Clarett spilling the beans

The only thing that got my eye during the interview is how he was laughing about all this... He was like yeah man it was boring so I went to McDonalds and umm yeah like uhh got some eats and watched them work and stuff you know.... Then you hear the reporter laughing with him egging him on.

Both of them are pieces of ...........

This still sucks, but I'm not worried about it. ESPN won't even repeat Clarett's allegations...they just play his tape. Dan Patrick is the one who introduced the story on Sportscenter last night, and he softened it pretty well. Mike and Mike were talking about it as well this morning, and both were very obvious in saying that Clarett has an axe to grind with TOSU. Both made fun of Clarett for showing up at the combine fat and out of shape, and Greenburg pretty much said that usually, where this is smoke, there is atleast some fire, but in this case, as he is completely sure that MoC lied at least about some of this, he has trouble believing any of it. I just hope more of TOSU's side comes out, and gets national media coverage (which I highly doubt), so that recruits and others get the whole story, and see MoC for what he is.

Don't want to start another thread but there was a pretty good post on BN that I want to post here.

Remember back to late December, 2002. The big story was Maurice couldn't make it back to Youngstown for his best friend's funeral. That's all he was talking about, and all we were hearing from Tempe in preparation for the NC game. If I remember correctly, Coach Tressel had given him permission to go home for this occasion, but Maurice wanted OSU to officially fly him back.

My question is this: If Maurice had all this money, and being at this funeral was so important to him, why didn't he pay for his own ticket?

Bingo!!! Coach told him to go... Well MO if you had all this money from playing football, and you had all these boosters giving you cash and lined up to take care of your lazy ass why could they not come up with 400 bucks to send your ass home to be at your drug dealers buddies funeral?

Man I wish I could interview him for 2 minutes!!!

Maybe we'll get lucky and Bollman was the mastermind behind the summer jobs program.

Not wishing ill on anyone - however the "Mastermind" for the jobs program was Dick Tressel right?

As for the punk who wrote the story - Tom (UN)Friendly -- did you catch his talking head spot? Interesting Body English. When asked about the truth of Clarett's claims he reverts to stating that Clarett claims this and Clarett claims that... All the while his head is doing an unconscious side-to-side (read not sure its true) and he's blinking faster than a sobbing diva (lying). This asshole knows there are holes wider than the moon running through his story.

That's why he won't last long at ESPN. He just opened a can of worms that ESPN probobaly didn't want.
If ESPN didn't want this can of worms opened they had plenty of chances to stop it. Wasn't there a report that a year ago they shelved this same story? So ESPN knew the can of worms opening up. But if you notice it is an unknown young writer that is the front on this piece. Doesn't this scream sacrifical lamb more than anything???

They knew if the heat got intense (ie boycott, 100% untrue) then they can cut him at no great loss to the network. In essense, he was hired to do this piece to get fired. And probable paid a good price to write it.

My bet is that this is EXACTLY the can of worms they wanted. I bet the hits on the website and the purchases on the paper are going to be out of site.
This is the x-mass season and it is all about ratings.

Yeah probably. But I'll help. And so will about 100,000 others (just a guess).

:slappy: nuhuh... I've been working out lately :lift: besides all clarett has time to do is make calls to his criminal buddies and lie to espn. I'ts evident that I'm in better shape than he is. Plus as stated earlier in this thread, he has a glass jaw and only takes one punch for him to get knocked out and piss himself. I'm golden 27... don't worry about me. But just to be on the safe side, will you stand outside of the door in case I need some help getting out? :slappy:

This is a very important item. The anchors and reporters aren't actually repeating the allegations? That would indicate that the brass has told them to not actually say these things to protect themselves and ESPN as a whole from liabel. What cowards.

They'll let Clarett say his piece after 6 months of rehearsal with his conspirators. But they expect a rebuttal in five minutes from the university.

fuckers.

Exactly. ESPN will ride the hype wave throough the sale of their magazine next week. Then once the wave is over and everyone has moved on in a week or so, nobody will care and ESPN will find something new to latch on to.

Of course, to follow their previous precedent, when osu is cleared of everything, it will just be a sidebar on their webpage.

He was probably out of cash since he was only paid after he had a good game :wink2:

As someone else pointed out, he couldn't get up at 6 AM per Tressel's rules to play college ball, but in the same article he says is able to get up that early now to get in shape for the combine.
