Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

"...So whether it’s coming out of my mouth or somebody else’s, it all gets the same end result. We communicate every play.”
"The offense hasn’t been prepped to counter the obvious uptick in Cover 2 it’s seeing, to name one notable issue."

Add a thumb down from me..
"Sitting second-and-goal at the Ravens' 2-yard line, Taylor inexplicably chose to run a gadget play − a double-reverse pass − that resulted in Tyler Boyd being dumped for a 12-yard loss, instead of handing the ball off to one of the NFL's best running backs in Joe Mixon."
Thumbs down: Bengals' Zac Taylor gets a little too cute with play calls (usatoday.com)

That shit is an epidemic throughout football circles. Dumb asses on short yardage plays praying for a miracle.

Yep, that one lost the game. And you know that loss is going to be a critical one, now we're 0-2 in the division and 2-3 teams have an awful hard time getting to the playoffs. This team is quickly running out of time to get in form, or else I see us clicking later in the season when it is too late and we win some meaningless games that just get us a worse draft position but not get us to the playoffs. NO is a must win on Sunday...I am sick of saying that, but it is.

Chase could have stood there at the goal line for a few seconds at least. And they took 0 seconds off the clock on that 2-point conversion attempt. But this time it will take more than a half the football field length field goal for Ain'ts to win.

Hendrickson almost gets to the QB just about every time it seems like. Maybe they could do more of that 7 in coverage stuff to give him more time to get more sacks. That was the defensive play on the last sack, I believe.

I thought I saw DJ Reader in there in the first half, but not in the second. Bengals were stuffing the run much better before his injury a few weeks ago.

Bengals are lucky the Saints had so many key players out today. Some great individual efforts by many of the Bengals players today. Waiting to say the same for the coaches and play calling..

That's my assessment. Obviously happy to win and perhaps salvage the season, but that inspired zero confidence. NO had Dalton at QB throwing to backups...if we win this one with Thomas, Olave and Landry, then ok. But this should've been a comfortable win all things considered.

I still don't get how we think incessantly running 1 yard flat routes to Perine in the first half is a recipe for success. The second we open up play calling and push the ball down the field, it works. Getting the ball to Chase and Higgins regardless of scheme needs to be the clear prerogative in the future. OL is blocking a little better now and Burrow is getting more comfortable, play calling needs to catch up.

Next few games are very winnable, please go win them and just find a way into the playoffs. Bright side is we're tied for the division at 3-3 somehow lol (I know Baltimore has the tie breaker, but at this point in the year having the same record is fine since we play them again at home).

Looking at the upcoming schedule, the next 3 games before the bye should be extremely winnable...Atlanta, Cleveland and Carolina. It's the NFL and if this point of the season tells us anything, it's that we're capable of losing any game. But come on, if there is ever a time for a run its the next few games to get to 6-3. Cleveland is no gimme, but we've gotta win that or we go to 0-3 in the AFC North... can't have that. But first, take care of Atlanta.

Well shit. Wilson is the heart and soul of this defense. No Reader or Wilson in the middle spells trouble, might get gashed in the interior run game...especially when we go against Chubb.
Yes, opponents' rushes were being stuffed for 0 to 2 yards consistently when Reader was playing. Clear contrast since. Maybe we can play effective keep-away and win some high scoring affairs the next few weeks.

Absolute beast. We all know it takes a ridiculous combo of talent, health, and luck to make a run like last year. Really hope I'm wrong but just doesn't seem like it's going to be our year. I'll obviously watch til the end but this is why there was no way in hell I was missing last year's Super Bowl...championship runs are so precious and so damn hard.
