Well, they did better than I expected. In reality they are about a .500 team. They beat the bad teams, and they lost to the good ones.
The plus is they got the 17th pick out of Palmer and a likely 2nd rounder next year. If they can get some interior line help, another CB, and a RB in the draft that all contribute next year they could move up to being a good team.
On a side note, I love the Raiders forum. It's amazing how much some guys are talking about Palmer leading them to the SB next year and how the Raiders are going to pick up big name free agents. Right now they are $10 million over the cap for next year (the only worse team is the Steelers), have no draft picks in the first 4 rounds (I think they might get a 3rd and 4th comp pick), and Palmer's stats continue to go down. That team is in serious trouble. They need to dump salary while everyone else will be adding, and they will have very few top 100 picks the next 2 years.
