Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

I figure if they get a taste of what it would be like to have a rivalry of hate and spite, they won't end up wanting it. The 2012 game can't come soon enough to settle this stupidity.

And 86, try telling that thing about UT-UF to my friend who goes to UT. They really hate them there. I was just giving an example of a rivalry built on hate and spite. UT has no respect whatsoever for Florida.

I bet they're both assholes.

That's the funny part about Dayton - it's a front-running town first and foremost.

There MIGHT have been 4 or 5 of them at the beginning of the year, now there's a legion of them.

BTW, hate to say it, but most of them weren't Bengals fans at the beginning of the year too....and they still aren't buying many tickets, but they are "fans" of the team.

Maybe bandwagon isn't the right term, but these people certainly are fair weather fans. Once Kelly stiffs them for ntre Ame or scUM or where ever he ends up, the "fans" will melt away until the next out of nowhere team rises up.

I guess what it comes down too is my basic principle as a fan is offended by these people who have watched college football for a smaller amount of time than your average SEC fanboy mouth-breather attempting to act like they are something by trashing someone they have no direct link too OTHER THAN being in the same state.

It's illogical. It's stupid. It's typical of what I expect from the Dayton and Cincy area sports fans too for the most part (no offense intended to the regulars on here, you're the exception to the norm). I know Ohio State's fanbase isn't perfect, I mean some of them DID boo Todd Boeckman and a couple knuckleheads did threaten Ryan Hamby (for instance), but as the reaction on this board shows, people here are mostly genuinely happy for UC until their stupid antics started.

try reading what I wrote again, I wasn't questioning the UT-UF rivalry, I was saying that it is a joke to say that the UC-Ohio State animosity is even close to that

Cincinnati doesn't deserve a taste of what a rivalry with Ohio State is like, Ohio State is a top five program in the history of college football, Cincinnati is fucking garbage, they don't deserve to know what it's like to be an Ohio State rival and would have to sustain their recent success for 20 years to even get close, and they aren't going to do that

Go Bearcats!

I am a bit tired of watching the SEC blow people away.

This one I am going to enjoy.

The cop out will be that their coach will have left. Of course, having your coach leave an undefeated team prior to its bowl game is the very definition of a top caliber program.

Get ready to hear one million friggin' times about how Meyer played defensive back at Cincinnati. How Meyer graduated from Cincinnati in 1986. How Meyer met wife Shelly at Cincinnati. How Shelley was a graduate of the nursing school at Cincinnati. How Urban Meyer's dad, Bud, has a degree in chemical engineering from Cincinnati. How Urban Meyer's sister, Gigi, is the vice provost at - where? - friggin' Cincinnati. :shake:

I really like Brian Kelly a lot and what he has built but the constant pounding of the chest of the bearcats fans has been annoying this season. Even if they just talked about how good their team was that would be cool. But they need to reference how much 'better' they are than tOSU. I have never seen such an inferiority complex...I hope the Cincy Grad and God's favorite son destroys UC!!!!!

Annoying as their fans and the media have been, I finally have to give the Bearcats some props - they're a much better team than I gave them credit for earlier in the season. Gators better prepare just as thoroughly for UC as they would for Tejas, or an unpleasant surprise could ensue.

The sUCkness of "the 'Natti"

Did anyone watch the Orange Bowl last year? I believe it had one of the lowest attendance records in the bowl's history. Also, I remember hearing on the radio one of the stations down here was GIVING AWAY tickets at the gate to anyone who wanted to show up just so they could make the stadium look filled for TV.

I know Wiki is not the end all be all when it comes to info, but it did cite this gem that furthers my point:

As late as December 31, neither team had sold its entire allotment of 17,500 tickets. Cincinnati fans had bought 13,000 tickets,[63] while Virginia Tech fans bought fewer than 5,000 tickets from the school's allotment.[64] Countering Virginia Tech's low direct ticket sales were large numbers of fans who avoided paying face value for tickets?US$125?by buying them on the secondary market, often for as little as 99 cents.[65]
So Cinci BCS Bowl tix are on the McValue Menu. Nice.

While the naked kitties put together a cute little season this year (and it is cute to watch them puff out their chest and say "WE ARE THE BESEST EVAH!! That is just so adorable!!), they really do not care about their team. Last year was one of the best in the History of football at that school, and they got a BCS bowl out if it, yet these so-called "fans" were no-where to be seen down here in South Florida.

Let them have there time in the sun, because the days of darkness will soon return when Kelly jumps ship for a better gig and the naked kitties are nothing more than bottom dwellers in the Big East.

FWIW. I have hated UC ever since the day I took a visit there to see if I would like to go to school there. I was with my dad and we happened to get an appointment with the dean of engineering so I could ask about my potential major. He was a complete dickhead. My dad actually stopped the meeting by slamming his hands down in this guys desk, standing up and saying "Son, we don't have to listen to this idiot anymore. Seen and heard enough?" and with that we walked out of there never to return. I never saw a grown man cower and go white as fast as that little prick did that day.

Fuck UC, the whole kit and kooble.

Go Gators. Chomp Chomp, motherfuckers.

In all fairness it sounds much more like VT's fans than UC's were buying the dollar menu tickets.

Frankly, if you had the ability, for reasons beyond your control, to buy tickets to the Rose Bowl for less than face wouldn't you jump at the chance?

I know I would.

EDIT -- And in that regard consider what the #70 note from your Wikipedia cite [NYT] suggests is the reason for last year's low sales at the Orange Bowl -- that it was later to host the BCS - NC game; just like the Rose Bowl this year.

The lesson here? The bowl that’s paired with the double-hosting model every year is clearly going to be a hard sell. So if your team gets shuttled off to that game, don’t buy tickets through your school.
