Au contraire, my droogie. From Wikipedia:

It would appear that something existed there--in rudimentary form--until UC witnessed the breathtaking and glorious edifice that the flagship had constructed in Columbus, then went and turned that rudimentary stadium into a miniature copy. Kind of like something in Legoland.

yes...because if it is on Wiki...it must be true.

"In 1916, construction began on a permanent brick-and-concrete stadium structure, which was completed, section-by-section, as funds were raised"

The construction began in 1916 but was not complete until 1924...something about fundraising...I'm sure if you were around then you'd have complained about it on every ticker wire you could get your hands on.

As a band geek (marching band in high school, plus current musical over-involvement) and big fan of TBDBITL, this is quite frankly a disgrace to any self-respecting band geek! My high school band director could have designed a much more even dispersion of band members across the formation, for Pete's sake! In addition to the "C" being of absolutely horrendous form, the marchers forming the entire thing are unevenly distributed. The "C" is very spread out, and the last few letters have band members much closer together (trust me, it isn't just photographic compression making it look like that). Also, if they didn't start in a four-row block and marched out all the letters from that, they screwed it up, royally. And finally, if they used "Le Regiment"...may God have mercy on their souls, because I won't! [/rant] :oh:

That whole thing is horrendous.

C - you'd think you'd work on getting the first letter correct.
i - or the second. Nah, we'll make it way too short.
n - oddly shaped, and the curl the C is awkward & broken apart.
c - wait, you mean cursive letters don't meet at right angles...
i - ...and then loop downwards on the other side? :slappy:

As if the entire stunt wasn't a big enough failure, they took it to the next level.

I'm actually going to reverse course and give the benefit of the doubt and say; I don't think that the picture is of a finished script. I think that their band is still moving into place, which means that they didn't march through the spelling. Not marching through the formation is a "fail" all by itself, but not as bad as that picture (that someone is charging money for) being of a finished product.

Sooo.... is Purdue every bit as good as OSU, or is it one game OSU happened to lose, even though everyone knows - including me- that OSU is better.. I think OreSU is better than Arizona and it was one game.. just like OSU-Purdue

I'm saying that Arizona is as good as Oregon State becasuse they beat them.........and they have similiar records against similiar competion.

oOSU 8-3
Arizona 7-4 (and are 6 points away from being 9-2)

I don't think it takes rocket science to say..."hey these teams are pretty equal". On the other hand, OSU is 10-2 with wins over 2 ranked teams and Purdue was 5-7 with 1 win over a ranked team.

It seems to me that these numbers would indicate that Arizona is a good team that beat a good Oregon State team, while Purdue is crappy team that caught lightning in a bottle with 5 turnovers and a blown call by the zebras that would have put OSU up 17-3 or 13-3 early in the game (I'm still bitter over Kurt Coleman's strip, even though we overcame that game to win the outright Big 10 title and a trip to the Grand Daddy of them all).

When you say that Arizona vs oOSU is "Just Like" Purdue vs OSU, you really show your lack of college football knowledge. By making statements like this, you are feeding the beast. We are iritated with bandwagon UC fans which all the sudden think UC is the best team in the nation with no knowlege of the overall College Football landscape. So what do you do to fight off this image? You come to an OSU board and make statements that prove that you are a bandwagon UC fan with no knowledge of College Football whatsoever.

Great Work JK......thank you for giving me more reason to enjoy UC's demise. Whether it be this year vs Pitt or in their bowl game....or down the road when Kelley leaves for greener (or should I say Golden) pastures.

IIRC correctly, Wiscy was also ranked giving us 3 wins over ranked teams...two of those over top ten teams.

Wiscy was #25 in the Coaches poll when tOSU played them this year, but unranked in the AP, so that can be counted either way.

I've always thought it was better to use the year-end rankings, rather than the when-played rankings, in determining how many tough opponents somebody played. For example, Charlie Weis can get credt for beating a #3 ranked TSUN squad in September 2005, or an unranked (at year-end) TSUN squad.

OK, maybe I loaded that argument.

Uh-oh bearcat fans...

Kelly to coach Notre Dame in bowl?

If and when Brian Kelly is named the next football coach at Notre Dame -- and the essential touch points of a deal could be in place by Sunday night if both sides want them to be -- the University of Cincinnati sideline chief might rival all for fast-change operandi. Backstage speculation is brewing that Kelly might resurrect an old trick and forsake whatever venue the bowl-bound Bearcats earn and instead drop shillelagh to stay through the holidays and beyond in South Bend. That means Kelly could stage- manage his first game for the Fighting Irish later this month if they accept a minor bowl bid.
Chicago Sun Times

Obviously just speculation, but there is a precident here. Also, if nd does hire him, it would make a ton of sense to try to get him in there for the bowl to start him working on Clausen and Tate returning next year. What better way than having them play for him?
