Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

I spent all Sunday afternoon at the Bengals game sitting in front of two UC bandwagon jumpers. I bit my tongue through the first 3 quarters of the game when they just went on and on about how much better UC is than OSU and how Pryor is the worst quarterback in the country and there is no way he will ever amount to even a decent college QB. How Kelly can coach circles around JT...etc. etc.

Then at the start of the 4th, they played Hang on Sloopy over the loud speaker (which has been done every game for the past 6 years, maybe even longer), and one of the bandwagoneers just went off said "OSU is irrelevant, why are they playing this song.....last time we played them, we shoulda beat 'em". Also the obligatory..."OSU is scared to play us", even though we have played them at least 4 times in the last 10 years and are scheduled to play them two times in the next 3 or 4 years.

I couldn't take it any more, I just turned around and said at what point in the 37-7 beating should UC have won. His response ...."what are you talking about." I said, OSU beat UC in 2006 by 30 points. then he said, well i was talking about the game before that. I then said...oh you mean the 20 point victory OSU had in '04 with the worst team OSU has fielded under JT?

The guy didn't say much after that. i have no problems with UC fans enjoying their great season, but for god sakes at least know what the hell you are talking about. And most importantly, when you are at a Bengals game....shut up and watch the [censored]ing game.

So, if we win out and go to the Rose bowl and USC goes to the title game, what are the chances the Rose would pick UC?

[/dream sequence] That would be effing awesome! [/dream sequence]

Then reality hits and I realize that the Rose Bowl will never allow this to happen. UC fans don't travel well (they had put on a huge PR effort to beg folks to buy Orange Bowl tickets last year, and never sold their allotment of bowl tickets in the few years prior to that).

Living in Cincy, I have to put up with all of these new found, duchebag UC football fans. They are crying like little babies right now because they dropped to #8 in the BCS. They cannot figure out how this happened, mostly due to the fact that so many of these bandwagoners are so out of touch with college football that they don't understand how the system works (beat good teams and your ranking will improve, since they currently have the worst SOS out of any of the teams in the top 15 or 20). Plus, I think that the beatdowns they got from Oklahoma and VT last year (with, arguably, a better overall team of athletes than this year) is comming back to haunt them. Although I don't necessarily agree with using past years losses to evaluate this year's teams, most of us Buckeyes can agree from experience that it happens. Many of us are not ardent supporters of the BCS, but it's what we have so we deal with it.

Over the past few years, I was excited to see the success that UC was having. Brian Kelly has established himself as a good coach. It only helps the preception of Ohio and Midwest football when we have more successful teams. That all changed when their players and "fans" got diarrehea of the mouth. Good luck Bearkittens. As most of us tOSU faithful know, as you climb higher on the ladder you make yourself a bigger target. One little slip and the fall hurts that much more...

We shouldn't take it too personal. I just read through their boards, and they're apparently also a better team than USC.

These just might be the most delusional group of fans that I've ever encountered, which will make their inevitable post-Kelly crash back to mediocrity all the more enjoyable. By then, I'm sure most of these so-called fans will have pulled their domer/UM crap out of the closet.

....or....turned their full attention back to basketball. Are most of them bandwagon football fans? sure. Are all of them UC basketball fans that have been around a lot longer? absolutely.

for UC being irrelevant and unworthy of the national stage as almost all of you suggest, you sure do get your collective panties in a bunch whenever you react to something one of their fans says.

and don't be too hasty to move Brian Kelly out the door just yet, shall we. The more you cry with glee for it to happen, the more scared it honestly makes you sound...I mean, really, you sound like a scUM fan rooting for Tressel to go to the NFL.

I dont really get bothered by anything UC fans say. They have a right to be happy, and say what they want as long as they back it up. So far they are backing it up. Do you think OSU could beat any team as bad as UC did with our back up QB? Not only did they do that with Collaros, but they couldve done just as much damage with Chazz Anderson. I like watching UC's Offense, and think theyll lose one, between WVU, and Pitt. DE Alex Daniels is a close friend and Im glad hes doing well, after getting into trouble at Minny.

1) Not all are UC Basketball fans. Plenty are complete johnny come lately look at the new shiny toy fans. I found out that one of the "DIEHARD UC FOOTBALL" fans I work with is a Xavier fan come hoops season. Now I don't know exactly how that works but seems to me there are more bandwagon hoppers then holdovers basketball fans. The Queen City is littered with these guys. They're the same guys who claim to be die hard Bengals fans but couldn't pick Jeff Blake out of a line up.

2) It's not what fans are saying that is getting the ire of Buckeye nation. It's what the teams website says. Or T-shirts, local radio & UC players and other things associated with the program. One one hand the inferiority complex is flattering but on the other hand the insolence needs to be dealt with in 2012. :tongue2:

3) Brian Kelly is gone baby gone. Too much opportunity and money to be made elsewhere. Be it this year or next. Eventually someone with a bottomless pit of money is going to come calling with a better opportunity. There's only so much spit and polish you can put on a 35,000 seat stadium. Even if they add 15k more seats its still a paltry 50k. Just like Dantonio before him Kelly will exit.

4)It's most certainly Best Damn Fans in the land. This fanbase won't melt away when our coach goes looking for greener pastures. The pastures don't get any greener. And that is difference between the Two. One is a classic that never goes out of style while the other is just some seasonal trend with an expiration date ...

What [censored]es me off is I used to root for UC back when they were not even in any conversation except for the Humanitarian Bowl. Since UC had no impact on OSU it was another rooting interest. I remember the Rick Minter era quite clearly. And I guess this is my point. I was aware of this program before these bandwagon chumps. So excuse me if I hold my nose while they tell me how freaking great they are when they weren't even aware of their own existence until 2 years ago ...

They're out of their f#@king element, Dude. What we got here is a bunch of f#cking glorified mid-majors trying to back their way into a BCS bowl. These are not worthy adversaries, Dude. In 2012, they'll know what it means to enter a world of pain!

I let those idiots run their mouths for about 3 hours before I said something. I'm not paranoid at all, I just can't stand know-it-all blowhards that have no idea what they are talking about.

Maybe you should go over to a UC board and post how OSU fans are paranoid.

I think you're missing the point to an extent, H&G. I think what sticks in most of our craws, is that when Cinci is enjoying a period of success (while OSU is simultaneous in a bit of a 'rebuilding' year), the University of Cinci (and fans, and athletes) feel the need to disparage tOSU. Why put down the state's flagship university? What's the point? Sure, the Bearcats are having a great season and are enjoying a great era of UC football, isn't it enough to celebrate that? What's the point of the "bUCkeye State" crap? And "Ohio's BCS team"? Those are bush league pot shots which come across as symptoms of severe short man's disease.

It's not just UC fans, fella. It's also been the UC media, players and administration. But don't let the facts get in the way of your beliefs about OSU fans.

Your insults of OSU fans indicate that an OSU board may not be the place for you. Why not take this garbage to a UC board, where you can all pat yourselves on the back with thoughts that OSU is too scared to schedule UC, UC is the real football power in Ohio, etc.?
