Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

Comparing just UC to the MAC schools in undergraduate disciplines, by my count, it's UC 14, entire MAC 8, with 3 subjects where neither was ranked. For graduate programs, it is UC 5, MAC 2 (counting both CSU and OU in public affairs). I think that puts UC well ahead of any single MAC school in Ohio.

if this is such a wonderous idea i have to think uc would be willing to take the first step then yes? seems like it would be easy enough for uc and the ohio mac schools to dub themselves co secondary flagship schools and for UC to spread their undergrad disciplines equally with the mac.

it would be near impossible for tOSU to debate the issue if uc and the other ohio schools can prove the theory correct. so step up and get this done. give them proof. i mean, this would be the best thing for all of the schools involved, the state and citizens right? *shrug* seems like a no brainer to me...

Future Big 12

My gut says BYU and Colorado State get the nod. Don't see the Texas schools adding anything. Looking West gives the B12 far more impact and eyeballs than sharing one corner of Ohio with The Flagship, UK and Notre Dame.

Like I said before, no way JuggalOno ups and bolts town if staying meant basking in the glory of B12 invite.

I don't think they'll invite anyone unless somebody leaves first. Nobody really moves the meter except maybe BYU. I don't see the Big 12 adding just one, although maybe they should take BYU now while they can.

I don't see Texas and Oklahoma as being in the BigXII-II ten years down the road, Baylor is on its way back to its historical irrelevance, Bill Snyder won't be alive in 10 years and TCU isn't enough to keep the place afloat. So the conference is unlikely to remain a "Power 5" conference in any event.

I could see BYU... but there just isnt that much positive to CSU. Academically, they're not horrible... never an AAU school but very comparable to Cinci (without Ono).
They will always be 2nd fiddle to CU... and not just b/c CU is the definitive flagship. CU is a short jaunt from Denver. Anymore CSU is 2 hours... thanks to traffic congestion. And their alumni base isn't particularly active. In fact, the whole state is very bandwagon. Avalanche were god's gift when they were winning. Now nobody cares. CU was god's gift when they got that singular heisman (and beat scUM in epic fashion)... now nobody cares.
But CSU is even outside that realm. It's distantly removed from the single significant city in Colorado (in terms of ratings and media attention)... both physically and metaphorically. Even their recent bout of success with McElwain barely moved the needle in Denver... even with their large alum base. People just aren't motivated to travel 2 hours up there... and if it did become popular, it'd quickly balloon to 3 because all the Front Range cities have actively voted against expanding I25. Actively refuse to add lanes to the major thoroughfares in town. Moving the stadium on campus won't change that because you'll just spend the same amount of time in stop-and-go traffic on the 2 streets with 2 lanes that have access to highly limited parking.

Boren’s reversal on expansion signals Big 12 stability

http://wvmetronews.com/2016/06/22/borens-reversal-on-expansion-signals-big-12-stability/

Like I said, he was just a big talking con man who--like any good grifter--knew enough to blow town before his grift was exposed.

  • Shot down on P5 membership.
  • Shot down on flagship designation.
  • There never was any chance that he'd get a Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Ohio State had nothing to do with that.
  • Zero chance that they get into the AAU this decade, and Ohio State has nowhere near the clout to keep them out if they had merit.

Oh, he's very popular ORD. The Juggalos - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude.

Yea but everyone with a twitter account is sanctimoniously righteous.
Attempting to tackle world peace, hunger, myriad political topics, etc. in 140 characters is asinine.

I know, right? After tackling world peace, world hunger, and political topics, what do you do with the remaining 100 characters?
