Chicago Bears (official thread)

London, Pitts and Bijan in your home state?? Wtf wouldn't take that. I'd definitely watch them every week

Unfortunately for Justin, I think Kirk Cousins agrees.

Saw a report earlier that said the Bears would wait until Cousins signs before trading Justin. Saw another report that the Steelers were out. Steelers thing feels a little smoke screeny. But waiting for Cousins makes sense.

Why would they wait for Cousins to sign. Help me with how that benefits them. Makes Justin a more valuable commodity?

I don't think the Bears have a choice. The teams that are rumored to be in Justin seem to be the ones who are in on Kirk.

When I said it makes sense, that's what I meant by it. My wording kind of made it seem like I thought it made sense from their perspective. I agree that it isn't beneficial to them.

I just wish the Browns weren't tied to Watson for the next 3 years. Hindsight being 20/20 I would have stuck with Baker for his 5th year (rather than pay him 10m to go away) then try to pry Fields away from Chicago last year for a lot less than they had to give up for Watson. Luckily for Fields and Harrison Jr. the Bears are going to continue to suck and they get to play football someplace else.

NFL is rapidly approaching the day every team will be paying their QB $40-60M a year.. even for AVERAGE talent
and no one is going to win anything with a bargain QB under the $40M

The 18th QB slot is $25M/yr
Then you have the star QBs on their rookie contracts who will be $40-60M when they do the next contract
Not many Brock Purdy's out there

Saw a 'Worst draft pics of NFL' somewhere. Surprised by how many of them were QBs drafted by the Brownies. Also rewatched 'Draft Day' another time. Pressure to 'get it right' has to be tremendous. And the post articles, such as 'who drafted whom above XXX superstar' has to make GMs cringe. Like they say, ' prior performance does not guarantee future performance', this stock thought mayhaps apply to QBs as well.

As a Bengals fan I would love Fields in Cleveburg. He isn’t a good NFL QB.

Caleb bad-mouth8ng Lincoln Riley for not handing him the starting job. You know, the guy who turned him into the #1 overall pick. Buckle up, Chicago. There's a storm headed your way.

“I told people before I went there that I was going to start and play and beat him out. I thought I’d beat him out in Spring and he was projected No. 1 and all of that,” Williams said. “He started for six games, and so, I kept preparing.

“Lincoln told me ‘keep going.’ It’s something that I didn’t understand, those two words, I did not understand when he told me, because I wasn’t asking him. I wasn’t coming to him to beg for playing time. I never came to him."

“I was so angry, so frustrated, because that wasn’t what I wanted to hear because I felt like I was the best," Williams continued. "I felt like I could have helped us win all the games, getting more reps, and I didn’t get those reps.
