Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

In fairness CW has only been at ND a decade or so. Wait till he gets the first generation of legacy players from his initial recruiting class. Then see who is the genius.

Just because they have three losses without playing a single team in the top 20 doesn't mean they aren't improving.

Can we let Willingham go already? I can't believe the media continues to tie him to this school, what other coach constantly gets brought up 4 years after he leaves his previous job. Old news, tbh. So Weis wasn't the heavenly coach that was going to bring ND "back to glory" quickly. He has better offensive production and his teams at least improve. Willingham's teams only seemed to get worse after the first year. This argument is so drawn out though, these hack writers need something original to write about.

Seriously TW's resignation/firing was a direct result of the UW beatdown at the hands of a Superior Schematic Advantage (heretofore referred to as, S.S.A. or A.S.S. backwards which coincides nicely with side profile and frontal view i.e. Furpa).

The pioneer of said SSA, aka Bill Belichek's offensive coordinator during the Pariots spygate controversy, gets the ultimate revenge for all the unfair blame which he previously suffered in silence at both ND and NE.
While deeply offended and scarred by those media and football elite who blamed CW for diminishing returns with superior talent, for the sake of professional courtesy and personal respect, CW has previously refrained from and asked others to stifle directing any blame, criticism, or complaints against his predecessor.
With TW stepping out of the fraternity of college football coaching, look for a new release of fact finding on the TW lingering curse, and how TW's resignation/firing is retroactively an act of divine retribution and justice for the past, present and future failures in the S.S.A. regime including but not limited to:
1. spygate at NE,
2. ND athletes not performing to level of predicted skills,
3. future ND losses,
4. media bias keeping ND from their rightful status in polls and BCS rankings, and
5. any other real or perceived oppressions TW has brought upon his SSA successor.

When Irish eyes are crying,
All the world is bright and gay,
In a string of Irish losses,
you can hear the angels play.

or

Tur a lur a loo sa,
Tur a lur a lie,
Tur a lur a looser,
That's an Irish alibi.

The general consensus among Domers is still that they are improving - even resurgent.

Ntre Ame beat Stanford. Stanford is 5-4.

Their other 4 wins came against teams with a combined record of 6-31.

And before their most recent loss they were whining because they were not rated.

I love it. Just love it.

They have improved they just need to learn to close out games.
2 games with 2 TD leads and lost them both .....:(

Remarkably...and delightfully...this IS an improvement over the embarrassment of last year. Fortunately, ND seems to be running the course of other middle-of-the-road teams that "build up" for one special year every 4 years where they go 9-4. This may be that special year so enjoy it.

I will be sure to remember this post and just how wrong it is .....
the next few years..:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Anyway, in some ways it is probably a GOOD THING that ND lost those games...ND might just make it to a bowl game that they deserve and might be able to win.

This is the same sack o potatoes comment we saw 3 years ago. Funny we're still seeing it.

Weis is not bringing the program back to respectability...just mediocrity. If that's NDs cup of tea, so be it, but they will not be an elite school so long as Weis is at the helm.

I would think that all but the most delusional fan would realize that Charlie isn't the man to bring back the glory years. Heck, just a few weeks ago, you saw what a GOOD coach CAN do when UNC beat you. Let's see...Butch has been at UNC less time than Charlie...inhereted next to nothing, and is at a program with virtually no tradition/history in comparison to ND. And at a school with high academic standards no less. So, Charlie has all the advantages, yet he loses. Why? The answer is as obvious as the butt on the front of Charlie's pants.

Charlie isn't a molder of young men, nor is he particularly brilliant. What he IS....a man who had so little willpower that he chose elective surgery to reduce his vast stomach size and then sued the guy who did it because Charlie didn't take care of things. AND he's the kind of guy that comes in and says his team will win because of what HE offers, not what the team offers. That's NDs head coach...surely recognition of this will come.

Like him or hate him, Colin Cowherd got on Notre Dame today.

He was talking with Beano Cook, who said Charlie Weiss still gets some time b/c Notre Dame is very young. Cowherd followed up with, "Alabama, Florida, USC are all young to Beano, but they're good."

I stated it before, but I think Notre Dame continues to be a victim of their name/hype. Casual fans hear about monster recruiting classes coming, top 5 seemingly every year, but don't realize that status was only achieved to sell subscriptions and pimp incoming players at the Army All-American game. As Ohio State fans, we're always disappointed as our early recruits slide down the national rankings, yet it works in the exact opposite fashion for Notre Dame recruits. And even if they don't move up the national rankings list, they still get invited to the All-American game.

It's just a recipe for disaster when you build that much hype around a good recruiting class, but not nearly as elite as NBC/Rivals/Scout make them out to be.
