Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

Another point being lost on the ND idiots is that the Patriots offense looks a lot better than it did before now that Weis isn't "weighing" them down.

My guess is that Bellichick was happy to see him go...if for no other reason than they could take the extra set of shocks off the team bus.

And wasn't just a product of free agency, as Brady had that offense clicking last year with mediocre WR talent...

It'll bite them in the ass later. Let the negative recruiting begin! Every single coach in the country is going to tell kids considering ND, "The coach is an ass who is more concerned with polishing his Super Bowl rings and asking what the next recruiting class will do for him than developing the kids in the program. He'll make promises that you'll start when he knows you'll never see the field, and he won't let you transfer out of there when you realize you've made a mistake."

The truly poetic part of this whole situation is that at this rate, Notre Dame and NIU are gonna be in on the same players on the recruiting trail.

The athletic department's decision to not release Jones from his schollie, thereby making him pay his way at NIU makes a certain amount of sense if they too believe that others are considering abandoning this sinking ship.

It's still first-rate douchebaggery, but at least they have a motive beyond pettiness: Not a laudable motive, but a motive nonetheless.

ND isn't taking its position on Jones based on spite or pettiness. Nor are they doing it for any principled reason ("actions have consequences"). They are scared shitless that Jones is just the tip of the iceberg. They are trying to discourage anyone else from leaving.

Somehow, we keep coming back to this...

Just counter it by pointing to successful teams that have their younger players making a contribution to that success (Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida).

I did that the other day to one of the more delusional Domers at work and I havent' seen him since

Really, you don't need to point to anyone other than Florida. Just point out that Urban Meyer turned Bowling Green into a winner in two years, turned Utah into a BCS bowl winner in two, and turned Florida into National Champs in two. Ask your Domer friend why they didn't hire Urban Meyer?

Oh yeah, they tried. Urban was smart enough to say, "Fuck that!"

And Pete Carroll or Bob Stoops ... their programs had both been mostly irrelevant for about 10 full years.

Good move on ND's part. If they let him out, other players could say, "Sure we can leave at any time and go somewhere else"

The kid signed a piece of paper and then ran away crying when things got tough. He deserves to be taught a lesson.

Old enough to vote, old enough to die in war, old enough to face the consequences of his actions. :tibor: somewhere else

So, if your boss at work intentionally deceives/lies to you then you are a puss if you quit, right? :roll1:

If it's not in the contract...

Did any part of the letter of intent specify what position this crybaby had to play? Really, it did? Wow. :roll1:

And please tell me how Weis lied to his kid? By the way he played QB, Weis was correct to try and get him to change positions.

You honestly don't think Tressel and about every other coach in the game change their minds regarding players once they come to camp and they see up close how they perform? There is only so much you can learn via videotape.

Telling him it was an open QB job when Weis stated it was Claussen's since the Spring is lying.
