Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

I feel a bit sorry for the Jayhawks. That program has fallen on hard times, and it isn't turning the corner yet. Feel really bad for Dayne Crist and a few other players that transferred to Kansas, guys that Charlie originally recruited. Dayne was a big time recruit at QB coming out of California, but he never seemed to pan out. He's a stand up guy though, and a team player. That offense at Kansas has struggled though, and Dayne still has consistency issues it looks like as well as a turnover problem that you shouldn't see out of a guy going on his 5th year.

Doesn't get any prettier for Kansas either, look at the rest of the schedule. Outside of Iowa State possibly, they may not win another game all year:

at Kansas State this weekend
Oklahoma State
at Oklahoma
Texas
at Baylor
at Texas Tech
Iowa State
at West Virginia

Just saw this...never heard of a coach doing this. I understand if the cupboard is bare, but these kids put 3 1/2 years into the program.

http://www.lostlettermen.com/weis-holds-ku-practice-without-seniors/

Charlie Weis? tenure at Kansas has gotten off to a rough start as the Jayhawks are 1?4 on the 2012 season. Still, it?s much too early for KU to give up on its season. Right?
Well, Weis is apparently more of a pragmatist. He announced during Monday?s Big 12 conference call that on Sunday he only practiced with players who will be on next year?s team. That?s right, a football practice with no seniors.
?We practiced without seniors Sunday. We need to develop younger players for the future,? Weis said. He also clarified that while the seniors didn?t practice they did spend the day running and lifting weights.
While we understand the need to give younger players more playing time, it doesn?t seem fair for seniors to be cut out of practice after they put three-and-a-half years of their lives into the program.
If the Jayhawks come out flat in their Saturday home game against Oklahoma State, look no further than this baffling coaching tactic as the reason why.

There was a bet going on at an ND board before the season started. People were wondering who would have the more successful season, Bob Davie or Weis. Most people felt Bob was screwed as Loxley ran the New Mexico program into the ground. However, Bob is sitting at 3-3 (Already 2 more wins than last year's team) having lost to only Texas, Texas Tech, and a close one against Boise State. New Mexico should be competitive in their remaining games as well. Kansas on the other hand is at 1-5 and may not win another game all season.

Charlie apparently has pinpointed the reason for his struggles:

Kansas student reporter is another victim of Charlie Weis intimidation - Yahoo Sports

Wait, before you start reading this post, just know that Kansas coach Charlie Weis did not give us permission to write it. And since it's going to be a post about the way Weis and his staff has been treating the Daily Kansan, a student paper, during the past week, this might be the last thing you read from Dr. Saturday.

At least, that would be consistent with the way Weis has decided to squash the First Amendment and take the frustrations of a miserable 1-4 season out on a 21-year-old student reporter named Blake Schuster by having an underling tell him how to do his job. Now, I don't know Schuster, but I know the behavior — Weis pulled the same bully move on me back in 2008.

Is there any other individual coach (not program or team) in college football that it is easier to root against...to root for their abject failure and national humiliation...than Charlie Weis? For me, it's not even close. Not Saban or Kiffin or Barry Switzer in his heyday. Weis is just a despicable human being!

Be advised, coach is very upset with you.

So what happens to the individuals who thought it was a great idea to hire this turd?

That's what kills me. Muschamp was getting ready to whack him, and Kansas throws this miserable human being a lifeline. BTW, Florida seems to be really suffering from the loss of their decided schematic advantage.

Nice to see that Charlie is taking the losing in true Charlie Weis fashion: blaming everyone in sight (coaches, seniors, student reporters) than himself. Why-oh-why is everyone out to make Charlie look bad. It also says something about the domers that they defended this man like a fucking God right up until the on-field losses became too obvious to ignore.....and even then their take was still, "well he's a good man and a true domer...just not a good coach."

Just thinking about individuals and not the programs they're at, the only one I'd put in the ballpark is Brian Kelly.
