CBF40's look at '12 recruiting (BP's prediction thread)

Amen. Wad, have you given a prediction yet on how the class will finish?

Not yet...every time I get ready to another name pops up.

I like OSU's chances with Spence and Diamond.

I like OSU's chances to flip Dodson and Pittman.

I am torn on Dunn.

I was ready to have Caleb in this class but I think the staff really wants either Diggs or Jone (or both).

Then all of a sudden Schutt's name pops up today, as did Winston's and Neal's yesterday.

Sure makes this fun...but let's see who visits this weekend and how those visits go and then I might finally be ready to make some predictions.

I get the impression that they'd like 2 WR/ATH types added to this class with Jones and Diggs as options 1a and 1b, Caleb as option B and Neal as option C.

This is the recruiting forum so I want to be careful but I just don't think Neal is on the same level.

Can we do a Vbet on first recruit to commit to Urban @ OSU.

Pittman would be my guess:biggrin:

With the names that are currently out there, an ideal ending for me would be the following (in order):

1. Dodson
2. Diamond
3. Odenigbo
4. Schutt
5. Spence
6. One of Jones, Caleb, Neal and Diggs
7. Pittman

I really like Dunn, and REALLY don't want him to flip to Michigan, but he's not a can't-miss prospect and he doesn't play a position of need. His value right now is in perception of in-state strength for Meyer and his high potential at a skill position - but not at the expense of any of the players mentioned above who are either can't-miss prospects or talented players at need positions.

With 8, I'd want:

1. Kyle Dodson
2. Jordan Diamond
3. Noah Spence
4. Cyrus Jones
5. Jamal Marcus
6. Se'Von Pittman
7. Tommy Schutt
8. Joel Caleb

That is a grand slam of a finish and would be incredible. In regards to Dunn, I just don't want him at tcpun (the cess pool up north ). Our current and future depth at RB is fine either way.
