CB Shaun Wade (1st Team All American, Los Angeles Chargers)

Not so fast. He has not signed with an agent and depending upon when the dumb asses make a decision he said that he might be back. Currently at home in Florida working with his trainer.

Ohio State football’s Shaun Wade could return this fall, but seeks ‘clarity’ from Big Ten

Shaun Wade has not given up on the goal that brought him back to Ohio State for 2020 — leading the Buckeyes win a national championship this fall.

Wade, who announced Monday morning he would forego his remaining eligibility to enter the 2021 NFL Draft, told cleveland.com he has not yet signed with an agent. He said there is no timetable for making a final decision, but the door is not closed on returning to play another season with the Buckeyes.

Whether or not the cornerback comes back this fall depends on two things. First, does the Big Ten put a season in place that Wade and his family feels is compatible with his NFL aspirations? Secondly, what does Wade hear from the league in terms of protocols for handling the coronavirus pandemic and the decisions to cancel the season on Aug. 11 and restart it now?

“We’re trying to be patient with everything and take it day by day,” Wade said. “I did want to play and I still want to play, but I had to do what’s best for me. That’s nothing against Ohio State and nothing against anybody. It’s just the Big Ten with no clarity.”

Yeah I have been hoping both guys opting out was a power move too but have cooled on that a little.

If they view the season as kind of a waste (kinda true but could always turn out to feel legitimate with a true playoff, etc) and they look at the wildly inept and unpredictable leadership within the B1G (absolutely true with a lasting impression with many) then maybe they wanted to opt out BEFORE the good news because it would be more painful on the fans to announce after the season is back in play.

Point is......maybe the negatives just stacked up so much that their minds were made up and they wanted to make it easier on the public so they weren’t getting their hopes up if the season comes back into play.
Can't blame them one bit! This has been a fiasco

Just sayin': Regardless whether Shaun Wade plays another down for Ohio State or not; I wish him the best whatever he decides. We don't know what the final vote is yet; however, if Fall football does get reinstated in the B1G it is due to the efforts of three entities (i.e. parents and players at Ohio State, parents and players at Nebraska, and President Trump/White House). I do not think Commissioner Warren would have ever relooked at the issue if it weren't for the efforts of those 3 entities. Randy Wade (aka Shaun's "old man") was one of the primary individuals in the "parents and players at Ohio State" and Buckeye Nation truly appreciates everything he did and is still doing, etc. Even if Shaun's "opt out" sticks (i.e. he never plays another down at Ohio State), I hope Mr. Wade doesn't "opt out" of the "OSU parent's organization".
