CB Kendall Sheffield (New York Jets)

This spot has to be the most surprising part of this team. Sheffield's complete lack of ball skills, and the fact that he's still appearantly better than a line of Uber recruits, is shocking.

A pretty big drop off from one of the 2 best safeties in OSU history, and one of the best cover safeties in NCAA history, was o be expected. But with Ward and all the young guys and this guy you would have thought this would be a strength.

I have to fast forward through every ball thrown Sheffields way when watching on DVR...I can't stand to see any more completions with him running step-for-step and not having a clue the when and where the ball is coming.

The big difference is that Conley clearly wasn't physically ready then....and thus was never a starter that year.
Exactly... Obviously kendall has every tool in the world right now with tremendous size, really fast, and he can play the run but right now he just doesn't trust himself when the ball is in the air to make the simple play on it. To me it seems like his fear is to be burned for a big TD and he's worried that if he goes for the "through the hands" technique that he'll miss and they'll be off running.

So I think that's why you see these last second grab and hold moves... He's right there though every single time though so it's not a physical thing. I never played CB but I would hate knowing that If I don't make this play he's gone because that's a ton of responsibility. I can understand why he clutches and grabs but hopefully he can get it corrected or I think we start to roll with Damon more so.

Anyone else underwhelmed by his speed? He's a track star and supposed to be one of the 5 fastest on the team, yet I haven't seen it translate onto the field. If he gets beat deep, he gets beat; he doesn't close the gap. Denzel Ward on the other hand has ridiculous closing speed. Maybe he's too bulky for CB?
