Hancock (No. 77 overall, No. 6 CB) and Jakailin Johnson (No. 41, No. 4 CB) are the first pair of top-100 cornerbacks the Buckeyes have landed in the same class since Jeff Okudah (No. 8) and Shaun Wade (No. 17) in 2017.

What makes Hancock unique is that he is a kid with great speed that can play a finesse style of game and be a pure cover guy, but he is also extremely physical.

Even though his frame has yet to really fill out and has room to add 20+ pounds, he still plays an extremely physical brand of football.

In that sense, he reminds me a lot of what Denzel Ward ultimately became at Ohio State. Ward was not nearly as highly recruited and thought of as Hancock coming out of high school, but worked his way into a top five pick in the NFL Draft. Like Ward, Hancock can play the finesse game with his length and athleticism but also packs much more of a punch than you might expect when you first size him up.

BOOOOOOM! The gif below is sums up everything. Hancock and Johnson were the top two (or right near it) CBs the staff wanted. And no surprise, but Coombs gets them both... he just never ceases to amaze me. Extra sweet kicker to take him from Dabo, would be even sweeter if somehow he can bring Barrett with him but for now, I'll just relish in this commitment. Welcome home Jordan!
