"I'm still pretty open right now," Jonathan Scott said. "I probably won't have a top five until the end of summer and just before my season starts. Scott is considering South Carolina, LSU and Michigan, among others. He says he isn't sure if he'll attend any camps this summer, but has already had a chance to visit South Carolina. "They really showed me a lot of love there," Scott said.

I'm sure there will be some public info on the matter soon...for the meantime it is pretty hazy and what info there is happens to be premium at the moment.

1460 reported he was not invited to fall camp but is expected to rejoin the team at some point. What that means, I do not know.

This prob should be in the rumor mill but "not invited to camp" prob means he is:
  1. Done something to put him in bad graces with the team
  2. Having some personal issues that the staff want him to deal with.
  3. Having some family issues that needs to be attended to
I hope it is resolved in the bst way possible.

Apparently, cornerback James Scott was not deemed worthy of being on the 105-man roster for camp. Team spokesperson Shelly Poe said this morning that as far as she knows, Scott will report later, sometime between now and the first few weeks of the season, when rosters are allowed to expand to about 120.

This is mysterious. The treatment is like Scott is a walk-on. If he was being disciplined for a drug- or alcohol-related violation, or steroids or something of that nature, he normally would be allowed to practice, at least. And you would think the coaching staff would want Scott practicing even while under suspension.

So this is odd. Scott played in 10 games last season as a true freshman, so the staff must think he's fairly decent. He was a solid special-teams contributor from what I saw, with a shining moment of recovering a fumble on a kickoff at Washington.

Confirmed: James Scott not on Fall 105 roster

Not going to verify anything or give any more details than this so save the guesses and do some simple assumptions...

Scott is being punished. Violating team rules.

He will be back but he picked a bad time for this.

If some of these "kids" weren't a lot faster and a lot bigger than me I'd take 'em out behind the shed and give 'em a good talking to.

That said, some of the team leaders who are a lot faster and a lot bigger than me should take 'em out behind the shed and give 'em a good talking to.

Had I given up the big coin and the first round to come back I'd personally be talking to every young man on my side of the line to help them understand the need to stay in line and focus this year.

Maybe instead of "The Winners Manual" we should be passing this out.
