I'm going to say it again, and it might be blasphemy, but Lebron does not have the same killer instinct as Michael Jordan. Not even close.

Hopefully, he gains it with age.
Is anyone arguing that he does? Now Kobe does, but not Lebron. I think Lebron can get better, but he is more of a teammate than an I want every big shot kind of guy.

But really he doesnt, he can't create his own shot in clutch time.
I disagree with this. Lebron has all the physical tools to create his own shot at any time. Now it might not be the best shot, but I've seen him throw up shots in every situation.

This was in the ABJ today and shows the Lebron isn't exactly a lost cause at the end of the game even though he has never won a game with a last second shot.

Clutch James
How James performs when the pressure is on in crunch time has been an issue recently. He has never hit a game-winning shot, while a contemporary like Carmelo Anthony has already made five. Actually, James has made two buzzer-beating shots to send games into overtime, both on 3-pointers last season against the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls. Also, 22 percent of James' shots are taken with four seconds or less on the shot clock, when the pressure is on, and he makes 46 percent of those shots.
James averages 6.8 points in the fourth quarter, one of the NBA leaders. In the last five minutes with neither team leading by more than five-- aka crunch time -- James averages about four points and shoots 49 percent, both near the top of the league.

Lebron has been playing 2 and almost one-half years without a game-winner. That is absolutely stunning. This team can not make it into the playoffs, let alone win a playoff series, until Lebron gets selfish with the game on the line.

The absolutely great thing about Jordan was that everyone knew he was going to take the last shot. And he still made it. The only time he wouldn't take the last shot is when he couldn't because he was bottled up. And even then, he made the "smart" pass, not the pass just to be smart.

Is it because LeBron cannot handle the pressure? Or maybe because we really never had any players surrounding LeBron and the opponent will basically put 3 guys on LeBron preventing him from getting a clean look.

The only thing I don't like about LeBron late in games is that he doesn't attack the basket enough. Perfect example is against the Lakers where he settled for a mid-range shot. Go to the hole, attack the basket, make contact and either draw a foul or hit the layup.

What is the common theme amongst all of LeBron's last second heroic attempts? They are all long jumpshots. While LeBron worked on his outside shot all offseason, that is still his weakest area of his game, and while in-game that doesn't bother him, but at the end of the game when the adrenaline is pumping his mechanics still falter on his late shots. With time that will improve.

But in the meanwhile... attack the hoop LeBron and go for the winning layup over the winning jumper.

Ira Newble: Defensive Specialist :sad2:

A defensive specialist would at least force a mid-range jumper. Not allow him to drive baseline and dunk with the game on the line.

If Newble is a defensive specialist - then I'm a defensive specialist.

ONCE AGAIN WHY THE FUCK WILL LBJ NOT TAKE A SHOT DOWN THE STRETCH HE JUST PASSED AN OPEN 3 TO GIVE IT TO SASHA FUCKING PAVLOVICH.

lets see if we can give it to Snow for the final shot.

2-15 to send a game to OT or Win the game. That fuckin' sucks.

Carmelo is 7-11.

Well he finally made his fist smart play of the game. Lets see if he can make 2 foul shots.

EDIT: Choke

I understand that this is a tough road trip and that Hughes is out, but I am seeing zero growth from last season. Outside of that flurry in the last 4.3 seconds with the freethrows, they looked lost out there in crunch time. What was Mike Brown supposed to bring to the table? Whatever it was, I'm not seeing it. LeBron is the future of the NBA, but if he is going to be "the Man", he has to perform better in the clutch. Very frustrating.

I agree with you on all pts. besides the part about Brown. I think LBJ needs to grow on his own in the clutch, and right now I am not seeing it.
