Cavs 07-08 Season Thread

Again, why doesn't LeBron get that aggressive in the early parts of games? He scores the last 7 poin ts for the Cavs, in cruch time, yet recludes himself to a passer and opportunistic scorer

I really think it'd help this team if LeBron went Kobe and decided to get to the hoop as much as possible

Mind you, I'm not talking about his 20 foot pull up jumpers, but when he wants to get to the rim and create he can, I just don't see why he doesn't try and get there every time down the floor

Look at the Lakers success (or overall lack-there-of) the past couple seasons and you'll have your answer.

The best thing I think that I have seen so far this season, is that LBJ wants to play on the defensive end...

If he can shut down the other teams best player late in the game, that is going to step our game up...

100% agreement. LBJ has been very good defensively this year. he has also realized that his play on the defensive end leads to a lot of good transition offense.

this team still has several holes:

-they lack a true #2 scorer. gibson is getting better, but isn't there yet, and sasha just hasn't shot the ball that well and still struggles to finish.

-they need another quality big man. drew gooden is a space cadet at times, donyell marshall is washed up. dwayne jones is a hard worker with minimal talent. cedric simmons has a high ceiling, but is very raw.

-overall bench depth. devin brown is scrappy, but isn't a good shooter. shooting is supposedly the only thing damon jones is good at, and he's had one good shooting game this year.

NBA roundup: Late run by James leads Cavaliers

Saturday, November 10, 2007 4:03 AM

Associated Press

LeBron James rallied Cleveland with eight points in the final 2:57, and the Cavaliers hung on for a 93-91 victory over the host Sacramento Kings last night.
Devin Brown had 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who treaded dangerously close to a loss until James scored eight of their final 10 points on the fourth stop of Cleveland's six-game road trip.

When/if a player signs a contract DURING the season... ala AV .. does he get the full contract amt or a pro-rated portion?

Pro-rated I believe. I would like to hear from someone with more knowledge on NBA contracts, but I think Varejao might have screwed himself out of being a FA next year with his holdout.

What's the deal with Arenas talking shit about Larry Hughes not being used correctly by the Cavs? If he is so high on Hughes get him traded back to Washington. I bet the Cavs would be happy to trade Hughes for Daniels and Haywood. Make it happen big balls.

Washington's offense with Larry Hughes and Gilbert Arenas:

Dribble, Arenas shot.

Dribble, Hughes shot.

Dribble, pass? (nah!), Arenas shot. Jamison rebound, kick out, Hughes shot.

In that case give us Jamison rather than Haywood. I'll throw in Varejao for that trade so that they can have another rebounder that won't try to shoot as much.

By saying he should go "Kobe" I don't really mean jacking up 30 shots a game...just being more aggressive.

This team plays way better, and has many more opportunities wehn LeBron looks to get to the rim first......and if he wants to get there, he usually can't be stopped

It's frustrating when he doesn't look to create first, and just becomes another cog in the wheel...he's too talented for that

I thought he looked great last night though...limited his outside shots, and was taking it to the rack....had some great assists penetrating the defense as well

Thats when he's at his best...just trying to get to the rim

I'd give them Hughes for 1/2 his salary and a hot intern. Addition by subtraction.

I read today that Snow may indeed be on his way out. He sold his Cleveland abode and is keeping residence in Atlanta. He recently left the team, after 2 games out west, citing personal reasons, and went back to Atl.

I wonder what kind of buyout he will accept to be free?

If they buy him out, would that reduce this years cap? I'm thinking no, but I'm not sure. They should have Santa Clause outside the Q with a red pot and a bell taking donations to buy out Hughes, Snow and Ones.
