Cavs 06-07 season thread

It may have been mentioned already, but it really seems like we are finally getting consistent contributions from the other playmakers on this team. Drew Gooden seems to be coming into his own and giving a big lift offensively when we need him. God knows, to be successful LeBron can't be scoring 40+ a night and getting no help.

That would mean giving Gibby more than 6 minutes of pt. I think it also means Z will get more pine time and more pt for Wild Thing.

It will be a good test. I'd be satisfied if they kept it close.

I think Z will be lucky to play more than 10 minutes tonight, unless he is on fire. The Suns don't have anyone who can cover a hot Z, but Z can't cover any of the Suns either. I would look for a lineup with 3 guards and Lebron at the 4 with one of Gooden, Varejao, or Marshall at center. I would like to see if Gibby can harass Nash with his speed.

More heat on Cavs

By Brian Windhorst

Beacon Journal sportswriter

PHOENIX - The Cavaliers are in for a heat check.
In basketball terminology, that's when a shooter takes a wild shot after he has made several in a row, just to see how hot he is. Tuesday night in Sacramento, for example, LeBron James hoisted a long 3-pointer early in the shot clock in the fourth quarter. In reality, it was a bad shot, but it came on the heels of three consecutive long baskets and, therefore, was deemed appropriate by all, even when it missed.

I think this is going to be a good game. I think we will see a different LBJ than we have seen at times. He will be playing to score and be the first option and will play some D. Much he has done against the Spurs and other top teams.

I'm with you on that one.

Every other time we're in Phoenix, it's a 9 or 9:30 tipoff but damn TNT has to move it to 10:30. Screw those late tipoffs.
