Cavs 06-07 season thread

It was great to sweep 4 games in 5 days for the first time for what seems like ages. Ever since Price was here.

Now we go on the road for 7 games. A 5-2 record would be pretty good I think. I just hope they don't fall on their face and they play well. Really looking forward to see how they play against the Suns.

It's gotta be the ball!:)

What are the odds that LeBron would have such a bad night and only get 8 points and Kobe scoring the same amount the very same evening? Must have been a full moon.

I still want more pt for Gibby.

Great job recently by Gooden. His only problem is he needs to lose that reverse soul patch on the back of his head.

Agree with everything that is said here.

Just also thought that I would add that Z has also been playing very well himself. Getting 4 guys in double digits a night has been what has lead the winning streak.

Looking For A Guard?

Jan 8 - Though they are running hot now, the Cavs still might look at getting another guard before next month's trading deadline. Two names that have emerged as potential targets, the Denver Nuggets' Earl Boykins and the Dallas Mavericks' Anthony Johnson.

Johnson is the Mavericks" third point guard and has been rumored to be available, although it doesn't seem like it will happen in the near future considering the Mavericks have been playing almost perfect basketball.

I like Earl Boykins' game and would welcome him to the Cavs. If Snow was NOT included in the trade then I would hope for Earl to start after geling with the team and Snow to come off the bench with Gibson. I haven't heard anything about who the Cavs would be giving up in any possible trades, but I'm guessing Sasha and possibly Snow/DJ if we are getting Boykins.

Boykins is an explosive guy that can really score. He could seriously help this team depending on what the Cavs would have to give up to get him.

Players insist they?re prepared for long road trip
Last West Coast swing was disaster

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

CLEVELAND ? The memory of last season?s West Coast trip drew a gasp from Cavaliers forward LeBron James and a cringe from coach Mike Brown yesterday. "We just got our behinds kicked," Brown said. "We weren?t ready for it and we didn?t approach it the right way."

Boykins while explosive on offense is a great role player. He is not a starter, due to his size. In some games he could be a huge defensive liability against bigger guards and if he isnt scoring he is going to be on the floor. Much like DJ.

Snow will be the starting PG on this team unless Gibby takes the job from him or he is traded for a guy who is fit to be a starter.

Cavs' young men go west

Team looks for more pleasant, productive trek than the annual disaster of many Januarys past

By Brian Windhorst

Beacon Journal sportswriter

There are road trips, and there are road journeys. The Cavaliers are in store for the latter.
Riding perhaps the hottest streak of their season, the Cavs embarked Monday on their longest road stretch in seven years. They face seven games, three trips into and out of California, and nearly 10,000 miles in the air.

Great display of effort from LBJ in the second half. With 24 pts, but what won't show up in the box score is his defense. I had to make sure it was really him, by how hard the guy was working on the defensive end.

Nice win to start off the west coast trip. Should be interesting to see how we do against PHX on Thursday.
