Still figuring this out for myself, but this might help. For youtube, is there a simple way to record the thing happening next (or later that day) on the channel you're on?
It seems designed to give you quick access to what's on right now, or a specific keyworded show that you can search for. What I'm trying to learn how to do is to open one of the suggested live tv programs, and then arrow to the right 1-6 hours to see what else is on soon. Without having to find that channel in the giant list of channel options.
If while in "Live" and looking at all of the channels go all the way to the left until you highlight the network and select that. Here you can find a variety of things, one of which is the ability to scroll more quickly thru the next 24 hours for that network.
It also links to things like all of the series on that network, all of the movies they have, or all of their news programs.
On another note, one problem I am having is lag if I am moving too fast - sometime for 20 seconds or more. What I sometimes do - and this may not sound like an endorsement - is use my phone or tablet to locate something I want to watch and then find it on the TV.
I also use this on Saturdays. If I am trying to switch among multiple football games on my 65" screen lag is a nightmare. So I watch my "featured" game on the tv and browse around on my tablet watching other games. I can get away with switching once in a while between games on my tv, but not constantly like I could on cable. Truth is I am starting to prefer doing it this way.
And in case you haven't stumbled on it they have another feature I adore for football and baseball. If you switch to a game that you have not been watching they give you an option of catching up using "key plays". It is more robust than Sports Center highlights and includes scoring plays, big gains, turnovers and the like (depending it seems on who is monitoring the game and capturing these). So if you notice that the 40 point favorite you didn't bother to watch is in danger of getting upset you can switch over and catch up in real time in just a few minutes and watch live from there. And it is perfect for the baseball playoffs. My interest is limited, but I can just tune in at the 8th inning, find out exactly how the score got to be 6-4, and watch live from there if I like.
