C Dallas Lauderdale (Maine Red Claws - NBA G-League)

They did not win. Solon's guards had all kinds of trouble getting the team into any kind of offense (I think one of their starters was injured early in the second half). Lauderdale got most of his on putbacks and there were a few alley-oops in the first half. He really runs the floor well and plays taller than his height, so he can definitely play center in college. He handles the ball a little better than I expected, but needs to work on his shooting form.

Its at the half and Solon is up by just 2. Lauderdale has 6 points and 6 rebounds. Dallas needs to be more aggresive in the paint, he has been beaten several times inside due to Dallas not playing sound defense......he has the physical tools he just needs to be focused on the fundamentals and stay active.

I totally agree after watching that game. I think at times he looks uninterested and I am sure for some of these kids that play AAU and up against better competition year round they struggle to get up for every minute they are on the court.

Seems like the same thing that Cook mentioned earlier in the season how he didnt play much D in high school.

Once Dallas become more active he could be a beast especially on the defensive end...

That is exactly what I saw. I saw a player with unlimited physical ability that was taking plays off and lacked intensity and focus. With that said, I might have caught him on a off night but his lack of focus especially on the defensive end was startling for a player with his ability. I may be to critical of him right now because he has shown the ability to raise his game against quality competition. The great thing about what I saw in just this one game is that Coach Matta will get these things corrected before he ever plays a minute for Ohio State.
