4/7

Rundown of performance from day 1 of the Real Deal tournament.

Mullens just continues to impress...He was impressive last week at the addidas nationals and so far he has been real impressive...They talk about his feetwork and his ability to snatch rebounds out of the air.

Here is some more...

His CBCC teammate 7-foot-1 B. J. Mullens was also stellar in stretches. This long and mobile big man will have a positive impact from day one at Ohio State. CSTV

Rivals' New Top Eight

rivals (free)
4. B.J. Mullens
7-0, 260, C, Canal Winchester (Ohio)
Long before Ohio State played in the national championship game, center Mullens pledged to the Buckeyes. His commitment is an important one because Greg Oden - as expected - is moving on to the NBA. Mullens is physically gifted, and is an impressive player at this stage in his development. While not quite the player that Oden is, Mullens will be a game-changer in Columbus.

Jerry Meyer on Mullens: "Although Mullens didn't get many touches at the Real Deal on the Hill this spring, there was no denying the impressive athleticism in such a large body. Mullens also has a feathery touch on his jumper to go along with his powerful play."

I would honestly take Mullens over anyone in the country, but that is just me and my scarlet colored glasses, but it is nice to see him in the top 5...

Honestly the only thing I might split some hairs over with him at 4 is that after watching Aminu in the finals of the king james I think that Mullens brings more to the table for his team...Not discrediting Aminu, and he did look tired in the game, but he looked passive and was still pretty raw...
