C Byron 'B.J.' Mullens (Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo - Japan)

really different type of player than oden. most of his offensive game is based of the drop step. shown he has a nice shot (struggles from the line though). his shot does have a little hitch, something i think will be worked out. but, i really doubt hes forced into 12 to 17ft baseline shots playing in mattas system. defensively i dont think hes as "natural" as oden. i mean youll see monster blocks. though, odens impact is amazing. athletically very very good. thats one of three things that i think sticks out about bj

1 pure size. the kid is huge. im not just talking ht. he heas the biggest build in the state. i dont know what he actually weighs, id be willing to put vmoney on that mullens weighs (more than oden with 18months before he steps on the college court)
2 athletic ability. amazing for such a young kid not not be akward and goofy. i dont know if hes as smooth as kosta k. though i think he is just as good of an athlete.
3 ability to dominate. the kid dominates on a team that wouldnt be the best frosh team in columbus. this isnt a guard. this is a big, the game has to come to the big boys. you cant go get the ball and make somethign happen.

comparison. like i said i dont really like the oden. yes similar but bj is offensively of the drop step. so youd say shaq. but, how many shaqs all time have thier been? hes maybe the most dominate drop stepper ever... hes bj mullens. ill leave it at that. though, i think he could step on the floor at 9 b10 schools and start today. hes a day one starter.

I was at the game Friday.

What is there to say about BJ?

He's a very good, athletic player that plays on a subpar team. No offense, but he couldn't do everything against us. Once he left the game, it was easy for us to run the floor on them.

In the first half he only made one shot and a foul shot against us.

Side note: At least 4 of his blocks were missed goaltending calls.

Disagree on the last line...

He might of had one that was a goaltend, but the others were not...

I know theres about maybe a 1% chance if that of it happening, but what if Oden and Cook stayed all 3 years. Im not joking, I really think theyd have about 5 NBA 1st round picks on their team. Oden could stay and work on his midrange game playing the 4, Mullens 5, KK 3, Cook 2, Conley 1. I think theyd have to revoke a scholarship or something too if that happened. It wont, that probably wouldnt even be the lineup, but that would be pretty hysterical to see.

This is a great post. As you said, it'll never happen, but we could probably beat the Memphis GRIZZLIES with this team.
