They had to move those over. No way have over 1000 people per day been signing up.
of course... they said in the split that all Scout premium accounts would be honored at the new BN... and apparently a bunch of free board regs are over there too... i signed up, but who knows if i'll ever really post there...

i saw that Dragonknight was on the new site... haven't seen DK around in ages...

I think Mr. BN said he has "bucknuts" federally trademarked.

He may, but attnys have a way of making a contract with Scout look like an implied consignment of the copywrite and the rights to use the name Bucknuts. I would be shocked if they were able to break the contract and rip the BN name back. I am guessing that they might have to wait till the contract expires or pay a hefty damages number unless they can prove breach of contract by Scout.

Yep... they imported 6000-7000 users, I'm guessing mostly premium members.

The Scout BN has some threads wanting to bring back old posters... it's pretty funny to see who they are throwing in the arena, many who are over here and would never go back.
I actually checked it the morning the new board came on, there were 5430 members when I first looked, which was sometime in the first hour it was up. That means they brought over 5430 premium user names from the other board, which means the other board was generating $54,245 a month at $9.99 a pop (and I know it was cheaper for annual members).

That is why they split.

I actually was a Blockbuster's near Easton Mall a few days ago, and overheard this guy who had connections to both companies talking about it to his friend on the phone, he said that he wasn't gonna tell anybody until they announced it.

The latest Mr Bucknuts column asserts that all those regulars known on the BN-on-Scout site are in the fold - Steve Helwagen, Dave Biddle, Kirk Larrabee, Duane Long, Gary Housteau, Bill Greene, NevadaBuck, Kyle Lamb.

It also has some pretty pithy language about the whole "van backing up in the middle of the night" on the formal Scout front page announcement of Bucknuts departure.

Also implies, strongly, in the same article that "we" are Bucknuts, not Scout - calling the new crew "outsiders" - Guess Greg Powers gets damned little credit for stepping up the plate.

All in all it contains what they called in old Westerns like Shane "fighting words."

I thought the comment about "Outsiders" was uncalled for and stated as much in the new BN Front Page forum. Greg Powers started as as a psoter here on BP and has parlayed that into a career opportunity with Scout and I am stoked about him getting the gig with the Scout/OSU affiliate (who I might add has been kicking the new Bucknuts ass in recruiting updates the last two days).

what's funny is when I switched my info over, I couldn't log in to premium. After about 3 days, customer service told me it was because my scout.com membership expired over a month ago. Of course, the fundamental flaw with this is that my scout.com premium membership still works. I pointed this out and have received no response.

Here's the actual complaint:

My Boss, Judge Huffman, signed off on the entry on 12/1 to appoint process servers.

Now that was an interesting read. Looks to me like Scout is screwed unless they can make the connection betweenthe non-compete with the magazine and the website, becasue they never signed a non-compete for the website and in fact had it removed. The magazine (and possible non-compete) came after the original agreement was signed for www.bucknuts.com.

I know that these things are slanted but sure looks like scout has a long way to go.

I also like fireing the first shot by Bucknuts becasue it established jurisdiction in Dayton and makes Scout spend more $.

To add, I do think if Kyle or anyone comes back they might be entitled to seek damages. But hey...I am not a lawyer.

EDIT: Bill and Nevada are back at Scout...
