Fantasy BuckeyePlanet Fantasy Football - Keeper League (R.I.P.)

Well it looks like we already have a majority, but I think it is a good idea as well. Does a distinction need to be made of the players that were dropped from the time of the original draft from last year? For example, it appears that I could keep Matt Schaub with a 12th round pick, but in reality I dropped him during the season and didn't end up with him on my final roster. He was then picked up by someone else and would then cost that person a 7th, but as it looks right now, it just appears that both of us have a right to keep him. Obviously the player had to be on your final roster of the season in order to be kept.

Obviously, only the person who had the player on their final roster can make the keeper claim. I just copied/pasted last year's draft results in an effort to get some info out there. In that scenario the person who has Schaub would have to forfeit their 7th rounder to keep him, even though you drafted him in the 12th.

I'll make a change too. Not wanting to lose my early 1st round pick, I'll instead keep Ronnie Brown for my late 4th, and still keep Matt Forte for my late 6th.

Updated Keepers List:

  1. The S&G Show (A. Boldin - 5th, S. Moss - 12th)
  2. New Carlisle (A. Bryant - 6th (7th) T. Gonzalez - 7th)
  3. The Soup Vixens (R. Brown - 4th, M. Forte - 6th)
  4. Charlie Luvs Burgers (BuckTwenty)
  5. SuperFanChaChi (M. Jones-Drew - 2nd, L. Fitzgerald - 3rd)
  6. Spybait (F. Gore - 2nd, D. Williams - 10th)
  7. Saccamano's Storks (A. Peterson - 1st, D. McNabb - 8th)
  8. Appalachia Moonshine (M.Turner - 3rd, C. Johnson - 9th)
  9. Boll Weevils (S. Jackson - 1st, B. Jacobs - 3rd)
  10. Psycho D (P. Manning - 2nd, S. Smith - 3rd)

Right, I should have gone back and removed the drafted players who weren't on the final roster... it was late.

No big deal, it was I nice refresher to have it pasted here, it could be just a little confusing seeing the same name on a couple different rosters if your just quickly glancing at your options and you forgot your roster from last year. Especially if your like me and your memory sucks.

I guess I am going to keep as is as well. Turner in the late 3rd is great value, and Johnson in the late 9th is the 2nd best steal behind JWins DeAngelo Williams 10th rounder...

I'm in favor of the new rules! Definetly like the new draft rules because like it was stated, gives you more to think about and helps you plan for the future. Interesting only 1 first rounder is being kept thus far! I've never been in a keeper league before, but these rules make lots of sense to me.

Regarding Tom Brady, he was put on the waiver wire shortly after injury and stayed there until I picked him up very late in the season, just in case because I felt I didn't have too many valuable options for keepers. And yes Josh, I watch the waiver wire like a hawk

The rules would make me possibly reconsider taking Tom Brady for a 7th rounder rather than Drew Brees for a 4th rounder, but since I'm for sure going to take Steve Slaton, who would be another 7th round free agent type, I can't give up two 7th rounders. Would I have to give up a 7th and an 8th if I chose to take Brady & Slaton? 6th and 7th?

Same keepers for me, and I'd really like to keep the same draft date/time. With the season starting on Thursday I'd love to be done before then.

This is a great way to do it anyway, makes for a more true "keeper" league, quite a bit more "strategery" :)

I'm totally stoked to get going!

It looks like everyone wants to keep the draft time the same, and I'm fine with that.

I spoke to my friend and apprised him of the changes. For whatever reason he's sticking with the same keepers. I did the good friend thing and tried to get him to reconsider, but he wasn't budging. His keepers are a 7th rounder and a FA, so he'll lose a 6th & 7th.

With all the other replies, that leaves only BuckTwenty to re-decide on his keepers. As suggested earlier in this thread, I think 8PM Monday evening is a good deadline to have everything set.
