I have been on here a little while, but it is a little intimidating at first when you start posting. You want to state your opinion truthfully but if it's against the majority you know dings are on the way. At first I just didn't post if I disagreed, but once you realize that if you state your point intelligently people may argue about it but not ding the crap out of you. I like the rep system it just takes a little time to get the hang of it. People need to realize that if you make an idiotic statement you need to be prepared to be in the red for awhile. But if TedGinn05 can dig his way out anyone can.:)

We both know that at this point I could care less about rep really, it was only a suggestion. As a new member, yeah I did care at first. Eventually it became such that "What's another million now?" kind of thing. Get rid of the rep system...I'd be ok with that as well. Great post awards could be advertised instead since those really show who the great posters are and who clutter the boards such as myself

As a new member I was really elated to get my first medal. I wouldn't want to see it go away, it's great to see a newbie earn their rep & get rewarded for it! Keep up the great work guys! I've told some Air Force buddies of mine about this great site, so their some more lurkers out there!

I just dinged you because you have repeatedly shown that you have less sense than Donny Junior. The rules here, unwritten or otherwise, are simple: Always post pics; Don't make stupid posts; and Don't whine about dings. We'll cut you some slack on the first one, but your idiotic posts are incessant and that you would have the temerity to ever whine about someone dinging you is beyond comprehension.

That said, the thing, of the many, that irritates me the most about you is that you continue to make your idiotic posts under the user name Ted Ginn. Christ on a bloody fucking cross, I know you're a sixteen year old virgin, but shut the fuck up until you grow up a little.

They are not from Mili...he always signs his. I dinged you becuase of your since-deleted post to Seed and the fact that you complain about the rep system then do the exact things you complain about. Your anonymous ding to Mili was not your first...

That explains it. I had been wondering what happened to Teddy today. He started the day with several gold leaves, then he plummeted into the red. I didn't see any ding-worthy posts from him lately, so I was starting to believe all this 'newbie hazing' crap and feel sorry for him...

"I say, the boy's as sharp as a bowlin' ball."

Uh, not a very good idea to send negative, unsigned dings to the mods!!

Sign all reps, positive or negative, INTELLIGENTLY state your reasons, and don't carry a grudge into another thread.

And, when you get of age, don't visit the political boards, they can be quite combative if you are thin skinned.

Might seem relative, but I see it more as "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer"

The way I see it is a few reps from a top 25 member and you siddenly find yourself top 50. Back when I joined in January, It took me probably 20-25 reps before I entered the top 50, even with numerous reps from higher members. The rep power needs to seriously be curved when the coding allows it to be. When top 25 members can award 1-6 medals per rep, it's getting out of control, IMO of course.

Dude,

Stop whining, I just got into the top 50, and have about half as many posts as you in 3x the time... As has been pointed out, there are basically 2 ways to get repped. Intelligent well thought out posts, with facts and a purpose, and hilarious one liners. The post I have recieved by far the most rep for was a pretty lame one liner, but I am not giving it back!!!!

I don't really give a rats poop about it, but it needs to be realized that if you contribute the rep will come. Everyone has thier own way of contributing, some require more time to accumulate rep than others (or maybe spewing hot air just doesn't work ). Once everyone understands that the rep system is %30 substance and %70 percent fun...

and yes, I can understand there would be some hesitence from the top 10-20 or so ranking repsters due to not overinflating or pounding someones rep into the dirt. Once the season and recruiting are over and there is some more time to code I would love to see the feature of being able to control how much positive or negative rep one is doling out, but that is the future...
