It would be foolish to count out the Wolverines’ young QB after just one season.
One coach stated that he’s straight up not impressed by Underwood.
“I’m not impressed. He just misses and misses. He’s tall so he’s able to make certain plays that other guys can’t, and he’s big so he can run. But I don’t see him as someone that’s dangerous at all. He’s a guy who can lose you some games.”
Another coach offered an even more pointed take.
“Just because you pay somebody money doesn’t make them good. There’s going to be a little reality check on that.”

Underwood living up to his potential would require a complete attitude adjustment. Which at this point seems like that is definitely not happening.

Just sayin': With the new NCAA eligibility rules, he could end up staying for a 5th year; 0-5 would be even better.

This should endear him to the scUM faithful. I can see Whittingham saying this, since he just stepped into the rivalry. Underwood is a hometown kid who’s lived through the rivalry his entire life. I couldn’t see any OH HSer going to OSU and saying anything like this.

Ohio State should feel great about the mental edge they have over TTUN
This offseason has been nothing but a win for the Buckeyes over the Wolverines. They crushed them so badly last season that they had to fire their head coach. The new head coach doesn't understand the rivalry, and Michigan's quarterback thinks this game is just like any other one.Day has to be jumping for joy in his office in the Woody when he hears these comments. He knows he has the Wolverines right where he wants them. The entire Michigan program is already mentally preparing to lose when that game rolls around, which is hilarious.
Of course, there are several months between now and The Game. Ohio State has a brutal schedule. They will be focused on winning their other games before TTUN comes to town. The first big one is that matchup with Texas in Week 2. That will be a tough environment to win in.
Perhaps last year's game was the realization that TTUN is a broken program. It will take years to undo the damage of the cheating scandal. Now that they can't skirt the rules anymore, they are in trouble on the field.

They've been broken for two decades...cheating to "win*" doesn't change that. What has changed is that they have well and truly been revealed. Sunlight not only ages manure, it brings out the smell.
