I'm sure Hooley was quite proud of himself today. He was no fan of Pryor from back when he was being recruited. I think he feels like he was right, though I think he "lucked" into it. Of course, I have to leave room for Pryor having me fooled, so..

I would love to recommend him; however, Hooley talked about how close he and Chris are. Didn't know if that would get it any traction.

I ended up sending the following email to the radio station:

Afternoon Fellas:


Listened you on the way home, and I even made a brief call in. I'm sure the poor gal has no idea what I was trying to say.



Here's the skinny: Hooley's a hack. He always has been and always will be. I would like to ask that if you want someone from the Ohio area to come on and talk about Buckeye football, then please get someone else.



Hooley was fired, because WBNS (local channel) couldn't defend him any more after he blew a gasket on the Finebaum show by sharing the like on March 9:


Tressel is "very artful in verbal double reverses."
Tressel has "a prolonged sustained pattern of NCAA malfeasance."
Tressel has done a "masterful job of crafting his reputation as the pantheon (sic) of all virtue."
Tressel is "a liar and a cheater" and the recent "dramatic and egregious violations of NCAA rules" don't "leave much on the table in terms of integrity and high moral character."
Implies that Tressel is under investigation by the FBI and the IRS!


You guys know as well as I do that you stay employed in your profession by having a fan base that listens to you. Well, the fan base was sick of Hooley.


I noticed that Bruce stated on the air that Ohio State doesn't do thinks the right way and they're bound to screw things up. Well... the dumbass forgot the fact that Ohio State self-reported this whole thing. Well done Bruce.

We're a rabid base that has it's fringe crazies. But I've emailed you guys before. I'm not bat-dung crazy. There are those of us out there who take the situation for what it is: a poor decision gone terribly wrong.

Spiels' genuine nature shines through. Yes, he and Hooley worked together. They may even like each other. But, they didn't always agree. In fact, Spiels thought Pryor was going to be ridiculous good last season after spring practice.

Interestingly enough, one of the hosts even talked before Hooley came on about some things that Spiels had said recently. He referred to Chris as "Mr. Buckeye". Why they didn't seek him out is beyond me.

If I get a response, then I'll request Chris for all future discussions.

Anyone else see the Common Man and Torg going down the Hooley road? Everytime I seem to tune them in they are bashing Troy Smith and now they are making Tressel out to be a complete phony and only taking phone calls of people who agree with them 100%. I wouldn't mind seeing some actual Buckeyes get their radio slot.

The issue for me, at any rate, is they feel the need to play to a script and PRETEND to be "buckeye fans" for some reason. The show itself is a regular local radio sports meathead show. It's not a great show, nor is it funny.

They are nothing other than your regular radio meathead idiots. Eventually they'll move on if eSPIN or Fox Sports comes looking for them as a weekend host or something.

hooley is a moron.

but anyone who didnt have their head buried in the sand should have been cognizant of the issues and what was brewing, his past, and what not. it is hard to admit youve been conned. but many were, and i was for awhile, luckily i saw the "light" early via some indiscretions that have yet to become public (and i hope never will)

Another pitfall of following recruiting I suppose. I believed in the kid after all I read about him. And... he was an outstanding player for Ohio State. That's all I asked of him. But, it didn't go as I expected off the field, that's for sure, as it turns out.
