Apparently those in Ohio State Land are willing to sacrifice those that speak truth and offer criticism of a coach, a university and its footall program. They are probably high-fiving themselves into a stupor.
Hey Media Idiot, you are selling a product, and we are the consumers. If we don't like what you're selling, then we won't buy it, and your employers will notice. And once they do notice that a certain Media Idiot is selling the wrong product, then that Media Idiot will lose his/her job. Get used to it - it's called a free market.

We're high-fiving ourselves into a stupor over the firing of Hooley, just like all the Media Idiots are high-fiving themselves into a stupor over the smear campaign of Tressel. The only thing worse than a hypocrite is an arrogant hypocrite.

The irony behind Hooley's anti-Tressel rant is that it caused the Ohio State fan base to circle the wagons around their head coach. Now, JT still has a job and is a hero/martyr for Ohio State fans, and BHOOLZ is looking for work and trying the bury that pesky skeleton that is literally hiding in his closet. Karma, such a bitch.

Who?

:p

Never listened to a second of this guy. Based on what I've read here from time to time, why anyone would choose to listen is beyond me.

My thoughts exactly. If I wasn't on this board I wouldn't even know he exists. His reach isn't that far.

What Finebaum interview?

Hooley on Finebaum's Show - March 9, 2011

Some gems from Hooley's interview:

Tressel is "very artful in verbal double reverses."

Tressel has "a prolonged sustained pattern of NCAA malfeasance."

Tressel has done a "masterful job of crafting his reputation as the pantheon [sic] of all virtue."

Tressel is "a liar and a cheater" and the recent "dramatic and egregious violations of NCAA rules" don't "leave much on the table in terms of integrity and high moral character."

Implies that Tressel is under investigation by the FBI and the IRS!

Hooley says of himself: "Integrity mean more to me than winning." Well, Bruce, the next time you win something, then please let us know....
Don't bother listening to it - in other words, don't give Finebaum any web hits - just read the summary above.

Her moralizing is ridiculous. Opinion people do not speak the "truth" and are not "reporters". They are there to generate debate, controversy and ratings. No radio or tv talking head who loses their job loses it for speaking too much "truth". They lose it for inflaming people beyond what is needed to maintain ratings. Hooley reported nothing and spoke no "truth". He ranted an extreme opinion, which went outside the bounds of what his employers wanted. Too fucking bad. We all have to do the shit our employers want, and we don't get to go crying to our fellow mediots that we were treated unfairly and didn't get to voice our opinions.

If this stupid fuck wants freedom of speech, he should grab a loudspeaker and go stand in the middle of the Oval and tell the world what he thinks. No one is entitled to a job.

I assume you read SI's small article in the most recent issue about Tressel.. More smearing, more piling on, and more and more ANNOYING. It's like, why don't you accept that, as a fanbase, we TRUST Jim Tressel to make the right moves. Yes, what he did may have warranted a firing by any other non-MAJOR program (top 5-10 team), minus the SEC of course. That's all common play down there.

EDIT: Here's the article I was referring to.. LINK

And HERE is how he feels about the situation... Really lacking integrity there! :bonk:

What coach out there requests that his suspension be EXTENDED to 5 games? An honest coach, who knows he made a mistake. And sorry if either article has been posted already, this is my first time weighing in on each of them.

My views about retaining Jim Tressel are positive but I really don't think that he had any chance of avoiding the same fate as his players. Rather penalize yourself than be seen to be punished further than you thought. Personally, with all of the media fervor, I suspect that five games may be less than he finally receives.

1. The woman's obviously never met Bruce Hooley . . .

2. As near as I can tell, no Ohio State fan, or anybody else for that matter had any respect for Hooley BEFORE Tattoogate happened.

3. Let's not forget the main point that Bruce Hooley is walking (but no longer talking on air ) afterbirth . . . and seems to have always been such, at least as far back as my memory goes.

I think the NCAA's done with JT, although they may wipe out last season's wins. I'm less confident that Delaney's done with him.

Seems like Bruce is still a little bitter about getting shitcanned based on his latest article for fox sports.
http://www.foxsportsohio.com/03/25/...ing_ohiostate.html?blockID=490448&feedID=3724

They share a common border and an all-consuming passion for their collegiate sport of choice, and tonight Ohio State and Kentucky will share the floor at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., with a berth in the Elite Eight on the line.

Other than the Ohio River, there isn?t much that separates these two schools when it comes to their chosen obsession -- Wildcats? basketball for UK, and Buckeye football for OSU.
