He's working his way to being Charlie Weis the second, honestly, I am still shocked over the Shanny firing, but if you are going to make a decision like that, shouldn't you do it with a sure thing in your pocket? Look at the assistants that left New England, what have they done?

The fact that he's looking at 4-5 wins tops without cutler should honestly make him think about what he's doing.

In one offseason to tinker with...The only good move i've seen is Brian Dawkins. Gaffney wasn't needed. The two rb's they picked up are shit. They had many options to go for a higher caliber rb,but decided not to. They lost one of their better "team" players in Mike Leach. Someone the fans liked and he performed well at his position..Why did he leave then? He requested a trade AFTER Denver signed Lonnie Paxton(from NE..irony?)..His new replacement for 5.5 million

I have read a lot of the quotes and reports and it still boils down to this..

If i'm a new coach coming in, Jay Cutler is someone I'm very happy to have on the team. With the 3rd worst defense in the NFL..He's the last person I need to talk to. The fact that he could drop his hardass attitude and realize he hasn't won an nfl game yet,and clean this up rather quickly, but opts to continue with games and ignorant quotes is humorous. I would rather win games, then be a hardass, and force myself down everyone's throats (sounds fun doesn't it)..

His latest quote is "ill take care of it"....Surely,he could understand why some people might find that hard to believe....

Team I support Numby, see I support the Chargers, we have a good quarterback, he wins games, he gets surgery on his knee and plays the next week to give his team a chance to win, he wins playoff games. Apples to oranges.

I'm fucking with you.

Cutler is a good QB. He wins games, his defense loses them.

Well, I won't argue, this is 80% MCDaniels fault, he thought he could do something to make them a mirror image of the Pats, and well, now he's left with a potentially career ending mistake. If Cutler goes, and they win 5 games next year, he's not going to last very long.

I will say, though, 20% goes to Cutler, and that 20% I don't think is something he's capable of changing. Look, there's two kinds of people, people who see something like what happened with the trade scenario as a challenge and go out of their way to show that they were lucky they didn't make that mistake, and those who have so much pride that they won't let something like this go.

I don't like Cutler, but I do realize he's a talent, and given a good mentor he could become something truly special in the league, but apparently that's not going to happen in Denver. He would go great in Cleveland, they have good receivers, and he's worked well with a weak defense and no offensive line over the past few years. Personally, I hope he goes to the NFC :p

McDaniels would be well-served to use his old boss's first job as a case study. Pulling crap like this is the reason Belichick is on his second job right now and not his first - and at least Belichick had the sense to actually secure the QB he wanted before shitting on the one that was already in place that he didn't like.

If McDaniels is lucky he'll get another head coaching job a few years after running the Broncos into the ground.

As for Cutler... of course he has a stronger arm than Elway. Elway is fucking old.

I have been a transplant Bronco fan for quite a few years since ending up in the west. I am new to this debate, and don't see any point in rehashing the last 3 pages. I will state a few absolutes from Denver's fans perspective. Most feel that for the first time since Elway retired that the Broncos had their long term solution at QB. Also, there is very little love for the New England way in Bronco country. Shanahan was an icon in Denver, although many begrudging accepted that it was time for a change. If this scenario with Cutler melts down, and Denver takes a step back at Qb, fans will throw that hardass NE coach under the bus in a second. NFL teams struggle for decades when they are unable to find a top tier QB. If I were Mcdaniels, I don't think I would be buying Cutler's house( or any other house), if he ends up shipping the young pro-bowler off. With Denver's other challenges, if Cutler goes I would lay strong odds that RR has a better chance of seeing the end of his contract with MI, than J. McDaniels with the Broncos.

and now it gets interesting.....

Bowlen says Broncos will try to trade Cutler

It?s official: QB Jay Cutler and the Denver Broncos are getting a divorce.

After a contentious and over a month-long falling-out between Cutler and new coach Josh McDaniels couldn?t be resolved, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen issued the following statement today:

?Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by Head Coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful. A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos. We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.?

The bad blood between the QB and McDaniels started in late February when word leaked that the new coach reportedly had discussed a deal that would have brought Matt Cassel to Denver and shipped out Cutler. McDaniels tutored Cassel in New England.

It's about time they admitted the situation. Hopefully the Browns can get involved somehow and stockpile some more draft picks.

From everything i've heard, which is all total speculation, the browns are in good position to make a run for him. BQ could be in denver..I'm not sure what else they would want..Probably Shaun Rogers, and something else.

The popular speculation is the Jets as the frontrunner with the Browns involved as the 3rd team. Who knows, I know a lot of Browns fans don't like him, but I'd take Cutler in a heartbeat.

Yea,I'm not really a browns fan,but would be happy to see the succeed at any point. JC is a great qb..There is no comparison to anything the browns have in the stable right now...or have had

I don't see why Mangini wouldn't try to get this guy in. Give him a team that wants him and he'll be a pro-bowler. Just don't give up Shaun Rodgers for him..

Anything except BQ + Shaun Rodgers or BQ + a first rounder.
