People here need to give it a break on ND. I have connections to both schools which is why I am on here and a big ND forum.

For everyone making fun of ND look at OSU. You HAD a coach who CONSTANTLY violated NCAA rules. When he was the AD and HC at YSU major NCAA violations when their QB was paid and received major extra benefits. He skipped town. At OSU, Troy Smith received benefits, you had a QB get arrested for trying to get a undercover cop as a hooker. You have the recent scandal where he lied to Gene Smith and the NCAA multiple times and made OSU and the athletic dept look like a bunch of clowns during their news conf. because they could never get the story straight. You have a university pres that does not know when to shut up and makes jokes about nuns!

Bottom line yea Michael Floyd has a drinking problem. OSU has a MAJOR image problem with a history of bad apples. MC, AS, JT, and Tattoo people, plus the 2 players suspended for the opener for also receiving benefits completely different from the Tattoo stuff.

So give it a rest, every program has its problems and OSU has one of the biggest problems with the NCAA now.

Difference? Everyone you just named was suspended, and OSU is good while ND has been trying to wake up the echos for 20 years...

ND doesnt suspend players because they don't need to. MF was suspended for 3 months and is now living in the dorms as a senior with 3 freshman.

Notice too how OSU is good, and notice how their best players are the ones always being suspended.....can you say playing by the rules because OSU and JT havent been able to since Clarette came on campus.

Like I said EVERY program has some problems but picking on ND when OSU is going through its biggest problems ever is like playing ignorant to the facts at hand.

ND needs to find better ways to develop and get in talent to win games. OSU needs to find kids and coaches that dont break rules. Miami needs to get the death penalty, and USC needs to clean up their act.

Bottom line the NCAA is a joke, they are NOT in control of anyone or any program. Rules will continue to be broken everywhere until players learn to respect authority and command because the guys living down at on campus are not getting it. MF did not either but apparently is now.

Last time I checked Brian Kelly did not hold a gun to that kids head and say get up on that F*n lift. You make it out that he is personally responsible for that kids death. If you really think that you have a bigger problem than just with ND.

Uhh. The only "star" players we've had suspended in 10+ years under Tressel were Bellisari (the week of the MICHIGAN game might I add, for getting a DUI...not 3 mind you - ONE). Clarrett for an ENTIRE season which thus doomed him for his entire career. Troy Smith before he was even "Troy Smith" for our bowl game and then the opener the following season. Which, keep in mind we also sat him a large majority of the Texas game also because of all that garbage - with him as the Starter I firmly believe we win that game. Lastly, we suspend 5 players (4 starters) for trading personal items for tattoos.

Keep in mind, most of our suspensions have NOTHING to do with the legal system. The number of players arrested at tOSU in recent years has been so few I would not be surprised to see us at or near the top of D1 in that category.

Suspended 3 months? Give me a break, it was the fucking off-season. He broke the law (3 times with behavior that can very well kill someone...oh hey didn't you guys do that too in the off-seasoon? Twice if you want to count the girl sexually assaulted by football players who committed suicide).

So get off your fucking horse. The recent troubles at ND and OSU should not even be compared. You're driving drunk and killing people - we're getting free tattoos and gift bags at charity events.

Check your facts, MF was NOT ARRESTED for DUI 3 times. Underage drinking was included in that count that you missed and if you want to argue no players on campus do that you need a reality check.

Secondly MC DID break the law, hence lying on a police report....

And not to mention the players involved in Tattoo scandal were dealing with a CONVICTED FELON. Yea, I guess MF drinking underage is alot worse than dealing with someone who has hired hitmen to kill people before.

Do a google search, your mind is misleading you. Chris carter was arrested for fondling girls, sophomores Louis Irizarry and Ira Guilford were arrested for robbing and assulting a student in 04, Eugene Clifford was arrested for assulting two men in 08, Antonio Henton was arrested for soliciting....

Stop trolling and get it right. these problems at tOSU pale in comparison to the scissor lift issue.

Every other coach in the midwest didn't even put their student assistant in that position. Half of the colleges either took practice inside or cancelled. LOL, Kelly wasn't going to put a gun to the kids head (that would assume immediate termination), but if you watched him work on the sideline, you can be sure that the kid thought "if I don't go up there then I won't be a video assistant here any longer. And I might get completely berated". There is a reason that there was a settlement and legal matters regarding that. Because someone was at fault. And the university knew it and just settled to save face. I'm sure your stay here will be short. so thanks for stopping by.

The reason why there was a settlement is because ND broke Indiana state protocol.

And to the other poster, yea TP and co. thought the tattoo owner was as nice as the easter bunny and a straight edge guy. Wow if that is not the biggest plea of ignorance I don't know what is.

I agree, hate that movie. Especially now that I live in Indiana and its held up as a standard-bearer for movies here. Plus, Kelly only wishes he could recruit that well. That classless douche won't last long with the Diocese anyway with his temper and attitude.
