You can't punish a school that already punishes themselves on the field by losing to teams like Tulsa and Syracuse :paranoid: Notre Dame has been all over ESPN for the debacles that have occurred the last 9 months, but nothing that brings down NCAA sanctions yet. I'm sure it's just around the corner, probably just as the team becomes semi-relevant again. Thats a bit away though.

In truth, I was a big supporter of Michael Floyd when he came in. He was good friends with my cousin too, he went out with my family the night he messed up his collarbone at the Michigan State game. My cousin tried to warn him that he was making some boneheaded choices in life during his Sophomore year, then she stopped talking to him shortly after. I wouldn't be surprised if this catches up to him later, he could be the next Jamarcus Russell if he goes to the NFL. I hope he has cleaned his act up, but I'd have to see it to believe it.

Notre Dame starts aerial lift safety program

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame launched a website Friday publicizing the hazards of aerial lifts, part of its settlement with the state over safety violations in the death of a student videographer at football practice last year. The school launched LiftUpRight.org, a website aimed at promoting aerial lift safety for universities, colleges and high schools. The site emphasizes the need for proper setup of equipment, training for those who use it, awareness of weather conditions and someone taking charge of safety procedures.

"As part of our investigation, we found that a lot of schools did not have specific protocols in place for aerial lifts so our hope is that some of the things we learned from our investigation will help others in higher education and also in high schools know some of the safety measures that need to be in place," university spokesman Dennis Brown said.

The university agreed in June to pay a $42,000 fine for safety violations in the Oct. 27 death of 20-year-old Declan Sullivan of Long Grove, Ill. He was on a hydraulic scissor lift videotaping a football practice when strong winds toppled it.

Of course not. Clearly only these "protocols" are the only things that can prevent such inconveniences. Obviously all schools who use scissor-lifts do so in places that are not subjected to high winds. To suggest otherwise is to imply that they are able to prevent such inconveniences by having employees who exercise good judgement and actually give a damn about support staff! Just another reason (on top of a mountain-full) as to why I say fuck the footprint, the fanbase, and whatever other positive hypothetical this fucked up organization could bring the B1G in expansion. If the B1G expands, then I sure as hell hope they ignore that dump in northern Indiana.

Met another idiot Irish fan yesterday. He told me they had 10 wins "AT LEAST" on their schedule and that OSU would be lucky to win 7. My friend that is a relative of his promptly bet him that OSU would have a better record than NoD. Boy I'm looking forward to seeing my friend recover his prize from that bet.

And he tried to say that OSU had a bunch of drug dealers on their team and that having a coach that forced a kid up on a video tower in high winds was better than that.

Tulsa.

Yeah, 10 wins isn't happening. We'd be lucky to get out of September with only 1 loss, 1-3 is a distinct possibility. I'm not sold on Crist, I think he's injury prone and he made some poor decisions last year before he blew out his knee. Not saying Tommy Rees was perfect, but he played pretty damn good for a true freshman, and he ended the losing skid to USC so I gotta give him credit for that.

If I allow my star WR to play despite his drunk driving, (which was his third alcohol-related incident), there's no way that we'll lose a home game to USF.
