Brandon Harris (QB LSU - transfer to UNC)

Take 2 QBs in this smallish class after JT last year? Could be an indicator of the staff guarding against a transfer within the ranks and/or early departure of Brax. Urb has stressed the importance of the QB in his system even more than most coaches do. How do you hedge that? Get plenty of quality depth and let them learn without throwing them to the fire the way TP and Brax had to.

So, by having a stable of candidates than can learn, redshirt, etc would make sense I guess. If we get quality OL and LB recruits in this class and dont have to pad the numbers too much then we might have that luxury. Besides maybe we have a little larger class than expected and we are close to being off probation. Having those extra schollies soon can fix some of our holes created by this strategy.

With all these factors I can see the staff taking 2 QBs although admittedly I thought it was only one elite player or none. If you consider Harris elite then we are taking one more. Considering its the most important player on the field I'm more than ok with that. Just think how much better Brax would be if he had one or even two years apprenticeship.

I don't think he's a Buckeye anymore. Says he isn't afraid of the competition, but it's never a good idea to take 2 top QBs in one class. It's not a good idea to take 2 of any QBs in one class unless there are serious depth problems. I like competition, but when two QBs are equal and one year apart, the more experienced guy gets the starting job. When you have two equal QBs in the same class, they split reps with 1st team and neither gets the practice they need. I never thought of this until we had that problem at Florida this past year. It was pretty awful to watch.

Very interesting insight for us Buckeye fans as to how Urban operates there. Tressel's strategy was to offer one guy and one guy only, and tell him that he was our guy. If that recruit decided to go to another school instead, we were screwed, especially if it was a last minute decision before signing day. Love how up-front with Brandon our coaching staff was with him too. There was absolutely no grey area, and Brandon completely understands the situation. That said, love how competitive Brandon is and that Collier's commitment doesn't deter him whatsoever from potentially coming here. It's really hard to not like this kid.

Guiton is gone after this year and after that we have no proven QB's behind Braxton. It may be a long shot but Braxton could potentially go pro after this year. I am all for taking as many QB's as Urban sees necessary.

Unfortunately I don't think Braxton leaving early is a long shot. Might be just a bit under 50%. This will be his third full year starting and mobile QBs are all the rage in the NFL right now. He would have to show a big improvement from last year, but he isn't that far away from EJ Manuel where it is a long shot in my opinion.

nola.com - Prized quarterback target Brandon Harris dishes about LSU, Auburn and Ohio State

7/10

On Monday, Parkway quarterback Brandon Harris revealed LSU, Ohio State and Auburn are his top three, eliminating Alabama, Baylor and Ole Miss. Now, with his whirlwind recruitment drawing to a close, Harris will visit Auburn, his last recruiting trip before returning home to make a July 18 announcement on ESPN.

Harris maintains his finalists are equal in his mind, but admits he is excited for his first trip to the Plains.

Follow link for video interview. Speaks highly of Herman and Miller. Interested in early playing time. Confident, realistic, and intelligent young man. Urban is recruiting good guys, not just great athletes. Mike Bianchi will have nothing to write about in a few years...

Elite 11 MVP QB Sean White has committed to Auburn
I think it's very safe to say at this point....

So much for the drama of announcing live on TV, although there really hasn't been any for the past few weeks anyways.

What's the pic for, you think he's coming to Osu? Based on what?
The exact opposite. He's been all LSU for a while now.
