Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

Your contrarian act is getting quite old. Purposely calling your rival by a name other than its actual name is indeed disrespectful.
I agree with you that it probably is intended as some kind of slight. But, in the end, who really gives a crap? He might as well refer to Ohio State as "Poopie-pants University" as far as I'm concerned. Just a lot of contrived nonsense.

It's funny because he's fat

Lord... listen to an interview with him. He sounds so winded just calling us Ohio, getting out that second syllable in our name may cause a heart attack. Imagine if he was required to use "The Ohio State University" every time he referred to us. He'd prolly drop 10 lbs in the next year.

... you as a supposed Buckeye fan ... For shame, "M" Buck.
I'd respond more forcefully, but wrestling with skunk would leave me with the same stink as my adversary.

I've been a true Buckeye fan my entire life of nearly 60 years. My dad was a Buckeye alum and fan for years before I came along. Your suggestion that a person must pass some sort of opinion "litmus test" in order to be a Buckeye fan is both absurd and insulting.

I will admit this: I'm a big fan of our Buckeye athletes and teams; much less so of some of my fellow fans. But I have enough sense not to claim that they are only "supposed" fans.

You darn well should feel insulted, Mr. "I'm okay with losing every few years for the sake of the rivalry". I say "supposed" because I know you as no more than an internet cipher who spends a lot of time taking the opposite position and playing the wine snob. You assume wrongly, again, that I would impose a litmus test on fandom--but if there were such a thing for Buckeye fans it would very likely involve The Game. Armchair contrarianism meets its match in the absolutes of OSU-scUM.

Personally, I don't mind Hoke calling OSU "Ohio". It's his prerogative to be stupid, and the fact that he's done it forever only proves his ignorance. My mother does the same thing, and I also chalk it up to someone who knows nothing about the thing they're discussing.

What amuses me, thought, all the mindless TTUN sheep now chiming in and doing the same, as if it gives them some sort of leverage. These are the idiots that thought hiring Rich Rod would give them an automatic advantage, so they have to find solace somewhere. It's the "oh yeah???" of debate- when you can't find the facts to support your opinion, try something different.

Agree wholeheartedly, and I'd bet dollars-to-pesos that if TTUN had lost last year, then a lot of said sheep wouldn't cotton to such a stupid consideration now. Once the "faithful" lose another 2-4 times, the phrase will fade off in the sunset like Joke on a donkey.

I know a few ScUM fans from my days in Michigan and they are on the whole "Ohio" thing like, well let's not go there. Of course, they also believe that Hoke is going to restore the rivalry to the days of Bo and Woody....so they got that going for them...

Words that I've never used, of course, since I seethe with every Buckeye loss to the Weasels. But don't let that stop you from putting ridiculous words in my mouth.

As Buckeye fans, we want Michigan to lose every freaking game against us, by as large a margin as possible. Nonetheless, the attention of the nation wanes if one team is so dominant that the outcome of The Game is a foregone conclusion. Much as I hate it when Michigan wins, so long as it isn't too often I have to admit it helps to keep the national importance of The Game at a higher level. (But Tressel's record against them remains the most satisfying fan experience I've had. I hope Urban can do as well.)

"He might beat us once out of every 4-5 games, just enough to keep some flavah in the rivalry. Fine by me."

National importance? As measured by whom, ESPN?

The Game's been going on for over a century and we're still a dozen back in the series: it'll be a few more Tressels before I'm "fine" with losing one for the sake of media attention. It's been a great and historic rivalry over the years, but it's still a rivalry--the goal is still to grind the opponent down into a fine powder that scatters in the wind, just like they'd do to us if they could.

(For the record, I thought Hoke was a good hire by scUM at the time, and had some concern that he had the Wolverines on their way back up: I'm happy to be proven wrong every time he opens his mouth or leads that bunch of poseurs onto the field.)

Being a "Michigan Man" means a couple things.

You have to be born and raised in Ohio
Traitorous enough to attend 'That" school ( Woodson, Crable, Howard)
Develop and maintain and whiny, bitch-ass attitude (Henne, Hoke, Avant)
Then be a pompous ass either while attending or after you've left (see: Hart, Bikey or Shaw/Shart)

I'd say that's about what I've discovered of the "Michigan Man".

Unless of course we want to place a call to Tim Allen.

Tim Allen isn't even his real name. It's Tim Dick.

That is a great FACT! Also interesting from the file of "things I didn't know about Tim Allen":

On October 2, 1978, Allen was arrested in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport for possession of over 650 grams (1.4 lb) of cocaine. He subsequently pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges, and provided the names of other dealers in exchange for a sentence of three to seven years rather than a possible life imprisonment. He was paroled on June 12, 1981, after serving 2 years and 4 months in Federal Correctional Institution, Sandstone in Sandstone, Minnesota.[15][16][17]
