Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

Here is their 2014 schedule. They avoid Iowa, Nebraska, Wisky, Purdue & Illinois. Does Armanti Edwards have any eligibility left?

They miss Wisconsin again next year? It seems like it was at least five years since they've last played, and I'd bet that Wisconsin would have won each of those meetings.

In his first five years at Ohio State, John Cooper was 35-21-3 (.619), with a 0-4-1 record against Michigan and a 1-3 record in bowl games (including an ugly loss to Air Force, one of the low points of Buckeye football). The Buckeyes stuck with Cooper and during the next six years he posted a 62-12-1 record (.833) with two second-place finishes in the polls (but still with little success against Michigan).

I know that head coaches at powerhouse programs no longer get six years to establish themselves, but if Hoke can turn things around next year he might be able to achieve success similar to Cooper.

And make no mistake, for Michigan "next year" begins on November 30th, so the Buckeyes had better be ready to take the Wolverines' best shot. A win would give Hoke a ton of good will, while a blow out loss might get him canned before bowl season.

This is such bullshit. Can't be correct; please go back and re-check.

Why on earth would the B1G Championship Game appear on the Michigan schedule? Obviously a phony.

Diego my friend, no offense but Holeeee Sheeeeite did you swing and miss on this one.

We've all been there, if you are going to miss, miss big.

To be honest, I think he's right in some ways. I still think Borges is a legit Off. Coordinator in his own right. Problem is, the Michigan staff have made the decision to do some crazy ass hodge-podge from the system they'd like to run and RichRod's system. As a result, it's easy to guess what they're going to do depending on how they line up... and they're only mediocre in both systems instead of being great in one. Moreover, as an entire staff, they've failed miserably thus far at developing talent.
Compare that to the offense Meyer and Herman have put together where we can run a number of plays from the same look -- forcing teams to stay honest on defense or give up a big play. And we're outstanding in that system.

If Michigan follows the usual pattern of dismissing a coordinator or two prior to firing a HC, I'd take making Borges the fall man and keeping Hoke for another year or two as a victory.

How exactly is he legit? He is about to be fired from his second straight coordinator position. He has had very mediocre results, just like the guy that hired him.

He barely recruits and the only guys he had success with were not his recruit.

They lose a minimum of 4 games and more likely up to 6 games.

I didn't say anything about his recruiting or "whose guys" his system used.
He's nonetheless produced statistically successful offenses at Portland State, Boise State, UCLA, Auburn, and SDSU. He was fired from Cal (regime change in his first year) and resigned from Auburn.
The fact is that his offenses have had some success at all levels of college football.

I don't know who is responsible for the decision to use a half-assed offense for scUM this year; nor did I say he was blameless.
But I consider Hoke to be the root of mediocrity there; if firing one of Borges or Mattison as a scapegoat keeps Hoke there longer... I'll laugh about it all the way to the bank. IMO both of those coordinators are worth more than Hoke.
