Boxing (Official Thread)

Yes for the record I was shocked that TB got the decision...but in reality I can see how and why he did.

Ok so you quote whoever you want..even that douche from the UFC. I'll quote myself.

As I stated above I was shocked he won..even though I thought tonight was the night Manny would lose. The kid clearly didn't have enough power. However the rounds in boxing are 3 minutes each...so Basically Manny decided to fight about 12 minutes tonight. That's all and that's why he lost. Manny wasn't going after him round after round... I can see how someone judging a fight saw the first 2 minutes of the rounds and said that TB was the aggressor. The aggressor typically wins the fight.

EDIT: Understand that a few punches at the end of a round have never impressed me. I've never been a big fan of "stealing rounds" and to me that's kind of what Manny tried to do all night. Had he fought him for 3 minutes every round this probably would have been over in 7 rounds at the most..That being said if TB didn't hurt Manny at all the rematch will be brutal on him.

:lol:

It's ok for you to acknowledge that the judges went full retard even though you "called it" in the other thread. Really.

I actually watched this fight again this morning. I just don't see how anyone on earth could score Bradley having 6-7 rounds. HBO was definitely all over Manny's nuts, but this fight was not 115-113 Bradley. It has to be bad when Mayweather sr actually gave the fight to pac man.

I grew up during the hitman/hagler/SRL days of boxing. I wouldn't consider that the glory years by any means but it was great boxing.Memories of a 215lb Tyson destroying guys 5 inches taller and outweighing him by 30-40lbs. Younger guys will never realize how great boxing once was.

The "rematch" banner was a nice touch at the press conference. It really goes well with the cancer that has degraded boxing to the level it is today.

Someone made a lot of money off that fight last night.

No question.

That fight was fixed as fixed can be. Some quotes from the Vegas sportsbook world;

"I can live with losses but not with corruption," -Jeff Sherman Las Vegas Hotel and Casino

"I know it won't happen but I feel this should be the last boxing match we'll ever book @LVSuperBook. #ridiculous" -Sherman's boss, Jay Kornegay

"state doesn't allow us to book events that are voted upon, thinking boxing should fall under this clause now." -Todd Furhman from Cesars

"Bradley by decision was the best result possible for us.....That being said, it was the worst decision I've seen in my lifetime. Even worse than the first Lennox Lewis-Holyfield fight."-Cantor Gaming sportsbook director Mike Colbert

Boxing is boring, boxing is corrupt and to be honest, the stud athletes that used to go to Boxing just aren't there anymore.

Even in a match like this one there was a lot of dancing. I realize each guy doesn't want to expose himself to getting hurt, but at what point does it become basically dancing with a punch every once in a while?

And these judges had their heads up their collective asses. 100 more punches, much more power, much more damage. At worst it should have been 118-110 (ok maybe 117-111) for Pac....
