Remember after The game in '06 how Herbie was clamoring for a rematch of OSU and Mich in the title game? Never happened. Watch Boise's rankings come tomorrow, if they are not in the top two in the AP, I don't see how any logical person could make the argument that they have punched their ticket to the title game.

The AP poll doesn't have any effect on the BCS process.

Because unless the teams in front of them don't lose, they won't get leapfrogged. Simple math.

They went across the country and played a very good team in a stadium filled with mostly with their opponent's fans and won. If they go undefeated I think they deserve a shot at the title. Why not? Let's see how they do against the Buckeyes or Crimson Tide. Anyways I picked them to play Ohio State in the title game in the pick the bcs bowl thread so I guess I have to stick with them.

They're Voltron-Tebow...85 players come together to form one all powerful media darling. It's vomit inducing.

They beat a pretty good team tonight, now they waltz to the BCS title game and VT goes on t lose their usual 3-4 games...

With one HUGE difference...

Chris Peterson, even after beating TCU, said they were just happy to be in a BCS game. Name one freakin' coach who doesn't whine for a title game???

These guys are classy, and they're legit. If it was Brian Kelly bitching for a shot as the coach of Cincinnati, maybe my opinion changes. But Chris Peterson has never complained, and always acknowledged their position in the college landscape. But they keep answering the challenges. If they run the table this year, going into the national title and they're #3 and left out, I think it's BS. They have 9-10 scheduled games a year. They came to Washington D.C. and beat Va Tech...that's solid. They beat the PAC 10 winner last year, Oregon. This is solid stuff.....shouldn't just be dismissed.

Again, they aren't in a major conference, but they play a big OOC game every year. Keep in mind, they beat PAC 10 winner Oregon last year too.

I just don't know what you say to them....? Everyone keeps knocking them, but they seem to answer every challenge. They deserve some credit.

Such a well-coached squad that seems to play the right way....don't see the hatred for them.

Yeah and they got apefucked by Georgia in 2005 and lost to a Washington team in 2007 that went 4-9.

Funny we don't hear about those games in the "Boise State is the new God" push.

If they want to be considered like everyone else, then beating a couple and losing a couple isn't fucking good enough to merit the jerk-fest they're getting.

Between this and Dryden's post of the Iraqi Information Minister...I don't know which is funnier.

Nicely done gentlemen...

I think the hatred comes from the fact that they CLEARLY play inferior teams with the exception of one or two times a SEASON. Yet, they expect to be treated like an OSU/OK/FLA or something when they go undefeated. No, it isn't impressive to win 13 games against absolutely terrible teams. Outside of Va Tech and OR State, BSU won't play a single team of Michigan State, Purdue or Northwestern. And those are the middle/low half of the B10.

Boise should go Independent if they want to be taken seriously. Hell, Notre Dame's schedule is so much fucking better.

Not to mention that there is still a little disgust over the fact that last season, the Hout kid didn't so much as get a slap on the wrist for being a dick and starting the fracas against Oregon.

To wrap up, it isn't the games Boise wins that aren't impressive, its the 90% of their schedule that sucks.

What everyone else said. Oh, and unlike almost every other team in history, once they reach the top 2, they won't get dropped by the voters if they only beat a crappy team by a score or less either.

And we lost to a pretty weak USC squad, who got beat by Washington the next week. It happens. They aren't UCLA basketball...

I know that, but if anything AP voters are more enamored with BOise than the coaches. You think the vast majority of coaches from major conferences would like to make it a habit for the Boises of the world to share their pie?

Hopefully they were all watching this game, and were able to see how awful Va Tech was.
