Bobby Petrino (Lover of Harleys and Volleyball Players)

I think it's funny how people are getting all indignant over what Bobby Petrino did. Since when is the NFL all about "commitment, character, class and loyalty"? I thought the NFL was about things like...

  • Speculation on how soon an incarcerated felon can get back on the field
  • Contrived celebration dances after routine plays
  • Espionage
  • Calling out your coach on your radio show
  • Not shaking hands at midfield after the game
  • Makin' it rain
  • Steroids
  • Not paying child support for nine children by nine different mothers
  • The Bengals
  • Firing a respected coach after he led your team to a 14-2 season
  • Quitting on your coach even before he quits on you
  • Running up the score

The only people who might have a beef are the Falcons fans....but this might be a blessing in disguise for them anyway because Petrino was going to be another failed college coach who thought he could do it in the NFL.

As for the rest of the talking heads screaming about it....well I guess they needed something to talk about to fill in the time before the MItchell report comes out today....

Falcons stung by Petrino's abrupt departure

From wire services
Coward. Quitter. Hypocrite. And those were some of the nicer things the Atlanta Falcons had to say about their former coach yesterday.

Bobby Petrino left behind a bitter team that felt betrayed, skipping town to return to the college ranks with not so much as a face-to-face meeting with his players.
The Falcons watched him on television the previous night, yukking it up at a giddy, late-night news conference in Arkansas, then showed up at their lockers to find a 78-word letter from their ex-coach, whose tenure in the NFL lasted all of 13 games.
"Atlanta Falcons Players," it began.

Continued.....

I'm more offended by Arther Blank's "mustache" than I am by Bobby Petrino's actions.

I do feel sorry for Warrick Dunn - he's the one classy non-scrub player that I can think of for the Falcons.

I like Joey Harrington's reaction to this: "He preached family and team. And then he quit on us." NEWSFLASH: Bobby Petrino is not the first person to quit on you, Joey. He won't be the last either, because you suck donkey balls.

My message to the entire team: Suck it up and go play football. Quit yer bitchin' and be PROFESSIONAL... for a change.

The letter was bush.

But I understand why he did what he did. (by leaving, not by dropping ouff a bullshit letter). He was going to get canned after 3 failing years anyway and he knew that. So he just went ahead and decided not to waste the next two years of his life at a place where he cannot succeed.
