Bobby Petrino (Lover of Harleys and Volleyball Players)

Might wanna move this back to the College Football forum:

ESPN Sportscenter and John Clayton are reporting Petrino will resign from Falcons and accept the head coaching position at Arkansas.

Status update on Mike Vick: Still a coach-killer.
I wouldn't want to coach those miscreants either. All the Pro-Vick shit they were wearing last night was disgusting.

Classic - Petrino "Phones It In" :slappy:

Citing the team as its source, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on its Web site that Petrino phoned the Falcons about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and resigned. Petrino and the team agreed he would not coach the Falcons' remaining three games, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton. Negotiations between Petrino and Arkansas are ongoing, the sources told ESPN. Once a deal is in place, Petrino is expected to be paid around $3 million a year, the sources said.
He's a perfect fit for the Hogs - perfect.

Clearly not cut out for the Big 12.

DeAngelo Hall just ripped Petrino in an ESPN interview directly after Bobby's press conference.

He needed too...

Worst coach in Falcon in history...Glad to see him gone...Hopefully this means they won't go after Brohm in the draft...

Hopefully they bring in a defensive mind as the coach or bring in a guy like Garrett...

Really? The worst in history? He was brought in with the understanding that he would have Vick running his offense, not Harrington. Horrible turn of events for the organization, but I can't blame Petrino for this abortion of a season. Next year should be just as bad no matter who the coach is.

His vetran players were criticizing him publically after just 2 or 3 games...They questioned the things he was doing and how he was doing them...

Glad to see him go...

BTW it also goes to show just how Vick meant to the team...They were a playoff/borderline playoff team...Without him, they suck royally...

Editor?s note: Commenting on this column will be opened on Wednesday morning.
He lost his quarterback. But Bobby Petrino didn?t quit because he lost Michael Vick.
He lost players to knee injuries, ankle injuries ? injuries because the JetSki went one way and his defensive tackle?s leg went the other. But Bobby Petrino didn?t quit because the Falcons? roster was decimated.
Bobby Petrino quit because being an NFL coach isn?t just about Xs and Os. It?s about all of those things Petrino didn?t want to handle and clearly wasn?t equipped to handle. Salary cap issues. Players egos. The most basic form of communication.
Bobby Petrino quit because he couldn?t handle almost anything.

Not saying he was a great coach. Just saying that this season was doomed before it started. He was smart to cut and run while he could still get a job.
