Bobby Petrino (Lover of Harleys and Volleyball Players)

God, scout boards are worse than a sewer. I'd love to see if all the people calling him a traitor and cursing his name would turn their back on the all-mighty dollar. It's not like Louisville is a top CFB program. Pretty much anybody outside of themselves can see that L-Ville is a stepping stone.:roll1:

Can you blame them?
I for one do not. This is twice now in recent memory that a coach has left for money, or for what he thought of as greener pastures. The Cardinal board has apparently shut down on occasions this evening with a load over the 2400 mark.

They are feeling abandoned and hurt by these events. The timing on this really couldn't be worse either.

They are left with a pretty thin incoming class (in terms of verbals) and little time in which a new coach can be installed to complete the recruiting rounds. Plus, there is the inevitable fear that their stars, in Brohm and Bush, will now elect to depart early. Finally, the fear that they might lose some of those few verbals to other programs has to be in their thinking.

Rich Rodriguez is smiling tonight. He flirted with 'Bama to get a better deal and a greater commitment from West Virginia, and their path to a BCS bowl just got easier. I wonder how loud he laughed watching Saban's arrival in Bama-land on YouTube.

were better off without petrino we'll bounce back and hire a better coach. Petrino is a choker anyway. remember @miami in 04? @wvu 05? @rutgers 06? petrino is not a big time coach, he nearly choked away the orange bowl. i credit the players for winning that game and overcoming his horrid coaching. he choked away 2 straight bcs games and the national title this year. sure we were up under him but we were never going to really cross that plateu with him here, we need a coach that can win on the road

This article is worth citing if only for this politically incorrect use of a word.
Cardinals 'shocked' at Petrino's departure
"I think it'll bring us extra-closer," Heyman said. "We've faced diversity this whole season."
I didn't realize that the Louisville Cardinals played that brand of special football. :)

Not so sure about this one. I was hoping for a guy from the NFL with a defensive background.

Maybe Petrino can get the offense more consistent and bring in some guys that can man the defense. I also hope it is one of those deals where that he stays away from picking his players or guys he played against in college if there are better ones on the board. Much like Butch Davis did with the Browns...

I will say this is a very interesting hire and could go either way...

As for the Louisville fans they need to realize they are still a stepping stone. I also wonder if Brohm's dad won't get the job there to try and get Brian to stay for another year...
