Bobby Petrino (Lover of Harleys and Volleyball Players)

Pretty apparent what's going on. Coaches always like having "their guys". Brian Brohm will be there next year... and Petrino will create tension between the vetrans and his new breed. I'm completly shooting from the hip, but in all seriousness... why cut Grady Jackson, it makes no sense.

I sure as hell can't figure it out.

Maybe it was an ego trip for Petrino.

"It had absolutely nothing to do with anything but football," Petrino said. "It was just the way we wanted to go. We felt like for our best opportunity to win games, the next nine games that we played, that this was the right move to make and that's really all there is to it. We made the move and we're moving forward."

Cause Trey Lewis a 6th round pick from Washburn is going to jumpstart your 1-6 team.:roll2:

Even Pacman Jones thinks Deangelo Hall should shut the hell up. Maybe some of Petrino's moves, especially the releasing of Grady Jackson, seem boneheaded. But, to call him out in the media the way Hall did is inappropriate and childish.

A good player frustrated by a lack of effort from the staff.

I think it's pretty clear that Hall wants the hell out of Atlanta and he is pushing that button to help make it happen. He's also standing up for a teammate, can't really blame him for that. As far as taking it public, not a good idea, unless as I just said, he's pushing the team to trade him. I believe he is a free agent after this season anyway.

Hall isnt the only one that has been critical...Petrino really needs to right the ship fast because it is starting to sink already...I really think that if Leftwich could stay healthy that he could get the job done at QB...

I still think they need olineman, they need to cut ties with Dunn, make Norwood the everydown guy, draft a couple safeties, that can play the pass, and not just hard hitters and then draft some d-lineman and lbs...

Need a lot of work with this team...Overall I don't think the O has been terrible, but there is major work to do with the defense...It seems they regress every year, when they should be getting better...Much the reason why I wanted a defensive guy from the NFL to come in and take over...

dhall really does want out of atlanta, the funny thing was they had almost signed a long term contract the week before he got fined by Petrino. once the fine came in he started talking about wanting out and slamming the coaches.

also dhall is a fa after the 2008 season. so unless things get settled down, he will be traded this offseason.

you and me both, i was praying for one of the ryan brothers to be head coach, but Mr. Blank went the other way.

i have also been praying for dunn to be cut since last season. he is complete garbage this season. the oline is horrible, but at least petrino drafted a OL in the first couple of rounds compared to Mora Jr, would wait until rounds 6 and 7 for them.

i really hope we can nab Jake Long (yeah i know he is scum but ), he is the best OL in this years draft and we have to start building the team from the OL up. The wide receivers are finally starting to come into their own, and if Alge stays with the team we have a nice core of guys that can catch.

the thing i would really like to see is like i said nab jake long and trade for Derek Anderson as he is a restricted fa, and go Saftey or LB in the 2nd round.

I dont think you can have both, DA is likely to cost a first rounder at a minimum... and Cleveland probably has the cap room to keep him if they want.

Might wanna move this back to the College Football forum:

ESPN Sportscenter and John Clayton are reporting Petrino will resign from Falcons and accept the head coaching position at Arkansas.

Status update on Mike Vick: Still a coach-killer.
