Earlier Monday, yours truly detailed Ohio State freshman Jared Sullinger's claims that he was spit on during Wisconsin's court storm after the Badgers' huge win over the Buckeyes Saturday. Long story short: Sullinger says a Wisconsin fan spit on him in Saturday's postgame fracas, and based on Sullinger's track record, we tend to believe him.

Ryan responded to a question about the spit heard 'round the world during the Big Ten coaches' teleconference today, and it's clear Ryan took umbrage at any criticism of Wisconsin's loyal fans. From the Columbus Dispatch:
"You know what? Every area of our facility is all videotaped," Ryan said. "There is absolutely nothing that has come to my attention. All I know is, we won the game. Deal with it."

Why am I not surprised that Wisconsin's head coach would respond in such an immature, classless manner?
 
Also said "We’ve got the greatest fans in America."

I challenge him to walk around Madison wearing a visiting teams football jersey on game day. I bet he changes his mind as they have to be some of the worst people I've encountered.

A bit of an update...Wisconsin announcer Mike Lucas tweeted that the police have in fact detained a suspect. Although, given Lucas' history of horrible attempts at tongue-in-cheek humor, I'm not sure what to make of this one:
"Police detain suspect in Sullinger spitting investigation. Tiger Woods claims he was no where near the Kohl Center when he launched loogie."

That sounds like an idea for a new show: Undercover Coach. Have a coach wear a disguise and dress up like a fan from another school and see how they get treated with hidden cameras following them around. I bet Wisconsin and PSU would come away looking really bad. Sign Bo Ryan up for the next time OSU football travels to Madison.
The only bad thing about this is that some fans are going to take this as a challenge to return the favor when Wiscy comes to Cbus in a few weeks.
