Bo "The Grinch" Ryan (Hip Hop Dancer & Former Wisconsin Head Coach)

I'm feeling the hate and liking it. Sparty and Izzo were too soulless and businesslike to really make a good rival for us in hoops, and the collapse of UM football has left that rivalry on hiatus.

Wiscy has really stepped up to the plate and given us programs in football and basketball to hate...something that should only intensify with the move to divisional football next year.

+1

ahem....

I'm not sure why Ryan's teams have consistently struggled in the NCAA Tournament. Style of play is what most people point to.

You haven't had a scorer who can bring you back into a game when you're down late. If Taylor keeps his game up, you now have that guy. March may be a little more kind to Wisconsin this time around.

What's up with the "Deal with it" part? Was that Bo Ryan's reaction to Sully getting spit on? If it wasn't, who was he talking about?

With all due respect to our new Wiscy basketball posters, who have been nice to talk to on here, the return leg in Columbus isn't going to be a close one and they're going to hope they don't get us in the Big Ten Tourny. Karma, revenge, unfinished business... call it what you like.

The quote is, "All I know is we won the game, deal with it, our end, their end," he said."

He's telling Buckeye fans that Wisconsin won the game completely, at both ends of the court, and that the Buckeyes need to process that and live with it.

Wisconsin is a good team but I thoroughly expect a beatdown in Columbus.

I wouldn't be holding your breath with respect to UW's football team. They are pretty much Iowa and Penn State--a bunch of 7-5 seasons mixed in with a 1-or 2-loss senior-laden squad every four or so years. We're talking about a program that, prior to this season, last sniffed a BCS bowl 10 years ago.

The question is what does that have to do with Sully bringing up something that didn't happen during the game? It could come off either way... deal with the loss... which we all will and prep for March 6, or deal with the repercussions of a loss in Madison- getting spit on. Either way, classless to say and unneccessary.

I'd disagree. I'd need to take a look at the records, but my feeling is that they've probably been the second most consistent team in the Big Ten since Alvarez' breakout season in '93. They've certainly been a burr in our ass over that period.

wisconsin under bo ryan has one win (needing overtime against 5-seed fsu in '09) against a team better than a 9-seed.

as long as bo ryan is in madison, they will never be a program built for greatness. the overwhelming majority of great players simply don't want to be part of ryan's system, as it isn't at all attractive to players who want to showcase their talents. the badgers will always be good with their current head coach at the helm. "good" is their ceiling, though.

Here's the data supporting my post:

1996: 8-5
1997: 8-5
1998: 11-1
1999: 10-2
2000: 9-4
2001: 5-7
2002: 8-6
2003: 7-6
2004: 9-3
2005: 10-3
2006: 12-1
2007: 9-4
2008: 7-6
2009: 10-3
2010: 11-2

Avg: 8.9 wins, 3.9 losses. Basically, a 9-4 season. Good, but far from being one of the elite programs.
