From another reliable poster on 11w:
Makes a lot of sense. BoB at BC doesn't seem like a winning hire, a guy who isn't an active recruiter, and I could see them being no better than when Hafley was there. Scenario makes more sense for BoB than it does for BC, IMOMy contact's contact followed up and said accurate as of midmorning.
Concern but optimism BoB stays. No decision has been relayed to OSU. Over the weekend, OSU did not believe BoB had genuine interest. Staff had different views and info vs BC media reporting. BoB has been at the WHAC, including today. There is a sentiment in the WHAC he stays.
The WHAC did not forsee BoB getting back into CFB as a HC. BoB does not fit the current CFB era with recruiting, portal, and NIL. Trying to boost his stock at OSU for future NFL return.
WHAC staff sees this as a "square peg, round hole" fit at BC with limited upside for his future goals. Presumably a personal choice to stay in Boston area is the main motivation.
Day reached out to several possible replacements. Chip Kelly and Jason Candle on the short list.
