I understand taking advantage of opportunities, etc... (and I honestly don't care, because it's not our problem), but this is a total dick move. Absolutely no class at all. O'Brien's a huge dick.
Cult escapee, escapee from happy Valley.. there are so many you can go withI like the new thread title. However, maybe "cult refugee"? Or "excommunicated, recommunitated, re-excommunicated"?
I’ve done everything I can to show respect to Coach Paterno. Everything in my power. So I could really care less about what the Paterno faction of people, or whatever you call them, think about what I do with the program. I’m tired of it.
the Paterno faction of people*, or whatever you call them
And this is what future head coaches at ped aggy are going to have to deal with until these joebots age and die off. That's why they'll probably end up with someone with pedtard ties that can deal with those loony toons and buy into the myth of "dear leader." That's something that might scare someone like Franklin away.Yes, I tuned in to the dreaded ESPiN this morning, to the subs for Mike & Mike. (mea culpa mea culpa). Need to find the article they are referencing now.
A reporter, beginning of December, interviewed BOB, then chose not to publish some of his remarks because at the time the reporter felt BOB was speaking in anger, and also thought he (the reporter) may have provoked the response. But, under the circumstances now, has made it public.
BOB said he was so angry he could "put his fist through this windshield." He had released one of the two remaining JoePa old school coaching assistants. Apparently, The Cult of Joe hadn't liked it. BOB went on a rant about being harassed/pressured/interfered with/judged by them. He didn't say "cult" but the quote specifically referenced the Paterno people and his anger at having their grungy fingers poking around the program he was charged with running. Quote about "I'm doing the best I can with near-death-level sanctions. I'm doing the best I can for these kids."
Off to look for the article in print.
So, yeah, as far as title changes: definitely need to reference escaping from the cult.

OMG!! This quote:
On purpose or not:
There is some truly delicious irony in this post. Maybe the most irony that ever ironied...
Stop the bull-oney. From another poster...
Are you serious? I live here
in Happy Valley, read the papers daily. As one other stated, he was
treated as the anointed one. If there were any comparisons it was
that his offense was dynamic and the defense thinned by the
sanctions. He was never seen as not living up to Joe by the
majority. Bottom line is he was calculating, as evident by the
buyout re-negotiations. He knew he was leaving...period and he lied
to a lot of people including those that mattered most, the kids
