Bill O’Brien (HC Boston College, aka BillyBob O’Buttchin et al)

Once he gets fired in 3 years and won't be able to get another gig in the pros he will never land a better job in college than he had at PSU. He will have to go back to being an offensive coordinator for a pro team or a head coach of a tier 2 or 3 college team.

Utterly Delusional. He'd still walk right into any mid-level school; which is exactly what PSU is.
It amazes me these guys think they're a Texas, Florida, or USC.

Until it's proven otherwise, I'm going in with the theory that O'Brien demanded Joyner's contract not be renewed and that a new AD was brought in. He did so on behalf of the majority of the Athletic Dept and even though they may have caved on his salary and other demands, Ira and the boys weren't willing to give up Joyner.

If these negotiations were in deed hot and heavy over the last 48 hours, then Penn State failed to do what it took to sign him, period - and that includes getting rid of Joyner. Some may balk at a HC having that much power, but you're all missing the point if you think this was just a position OB had. Joyner is absolutely loathed by the varsity coaches and student athletes.
