I've always known that the Cultists make it tough for you to 'swallow'.

Penn State adds ex-NFL corner's son

Make it an even dozen for Bill O'Brien this offseason in Happy Valley. Penn State received a 12th verbal commitment Wednesday when Maryland cornerback Troy Vincent Jr. pledged to sign with the Nittany Lions next February. Vincent is the son of former Pro Bowl cornerback Troy Vincent. He had scholarship offers from a number of schools, including Notre Dame and Michigan. Vincent's commitment bolstered a class that has received high marks from recruiting analysts even though Penn State is not allowed to sign more than 15 players to its 2014 recruiting class because of NCAA sanctions. The 5-foot-10, 181-pounder plays at the Gilman School in Baltimore.

I must say I was somewhat surprised and dismayed to see what a whiny bitch O'Brien was in his postgame presser. He claimed that his qb hurt his shoulder on the play where "they jumped offsides" but when you look at that play the qb was never touched. Then you realize that he's referring to the play where his own left tackle false started and he's describing it as "they jumped offsides". If you rewatch the game you'll see that Hackenburg never reaches for, touches, rotates his shoulder or gives any indication he's in any discomfort at all, for the rest of the 1st quarter, and the entire 2nd quarter. The play was created by his own player false starting, defense didn't hear the whistle, and his starting qb was knocked out of the game, although he didn't actually leave the game until 2 1/2 quarters later. Because he's "a tough kid". O.K.
I know it was an embarrassing loss of epic proportions but that's really when you find out who you are. Compare with Bo Pelini who suffered at least as embarrassing a loss on Saturday. Pelini gave all the credit to Minnesota for being tougher and better prepared. If I were a Nebraska fan I would have been very proud of my coach. He stepped up and showed character in the face of humiliating defeat. All O'Brien showed was his ass.

He gets more of a "Charlie Weis" feel every week. Feel-good first season on the job amongst low expectations. NFL flirtations lead to an extension/raise. Starts to show some legitimate coaching deficiencies in year two. The Bill Belichick coaching tree has a miserable track record, and I'm not convinced Balls O'Blumpkin is gonna deviate from that path...

We're talking about the guy who they basically kicked off the team to bring McDaniels back....during the playoffs.

That sentence says so many things to me:
- Patriots coordinators are plug & play
- O'Ballslap wasn't even wanted to finish the season
- O'Ballslap wasn't as good as Josh McDaniels.....who was just coming off a 3-9 season as coach of the Broncos and 2-14 as OC of a Rams team that scored more than 20 points 2 times.

But yeah I'd rather have him than Urban Meyer.

I am torn about the rest of Ped State's season. On one hand I want them to win out so that OSU has a better SOS (what a bullshit term since Sagarin and other computer polls are not to use margin of victory for the BsCS), yet on the other hand I want them to lose the rest because "THEY ARE....PED STATE"

In regards to Balzac O'Buttsecks, I think he will achieve Kirk Ferentz status by being a perennial mid-level to bottom dweller in the B1G, but have all these unjustified accolades for "doing more with less".

One last thing, we may see a transfer or two at the end of this year for the shitty lions if the losses start adding up, and The Big Hack will be one.

Ha! Can you imagine Iowa with Penn State's fans? You know - instead of being 3rd in conference standings since joining the conference, they're 5th or 6th? Probably twice as much whining about referees, opposing coaches, and the conference, as a whole.

One last thing, we may see a transfer or two at the end of this year for the [Mark May]ty lions if the losses start adding up, and The Big Hack will be one.

Hackenberg is a lonely bright light on the dark abyss that is Penn State football. To lose him would create a beautiful meltdown on BWI. I'd love to see it.

Interesting comparison...could be even more appropriate in a few years when we know if BJ O'Backfat missed his NFL window like Ferentz did.

I can already taste the meltdown on BWI if Hack were to transfer out...it's delicious.
