Bill Davis (LB Coach Arizona Cardinals)

Some of this blame has to fall on the co-DC's. Also, it is not always the scheme but sometimes it is the players. Maybe they are not taking their assignments in the right manner. I mean Davis has coached at a very high level so I would not be putting all the blame on him.

To an extent I agree.... trying to force Worley & Browning at MLB .. prime examples of Davis’s shittiness as an LB coach...

Caught a bit of audio from the LB meeting earlier this year as Coach Davis was talking to his group:

"Hey Werner, you look like your safety sized. We will publish in the media guide your 236lb but anybody with eyes can tell your about 215lb. I will start you so you can get mowed over on half the plays and that way you can grade out as champion.

Tuf, your can't outrun my grandma with the walker so you work the middle and anything outside of the box, we will blame Pryor when he takes a bad angle. Friggin safeties...am I right or am I right.

Harrison, your actually pretty good. I'll play you sparingly or until you get hurt.

And remember boys, gaps are so 1970. You do whatever you want and good things will happen!!!!!"

Well that's probably an UFM call to be fair
if urban is dictating who’s playing what position at a position he never coached.. we go to problems... he might have suggested “try to get our best guys out on the field” or “ why not try Chris or Baron at Mike” but if Davis is really his best buddy he should be good enough friends to tell Urban to “thanks for the input boss” then walk away and completely ignore it.

They actually let him speak tonight..first time I am aware of. Is playing great in practice a lot like being a Spring Game superstar. I expect Bam Childress to take things over at WR at any second to make a late Heisman push. Sorry about your luck Haskins!!!!!

"Our whole defense is right at that edge,” Davis said after practice on Wednesday. “Some of the guys are popping with that confidence: I do belong, we are good. Right now, it’s a great feeling. I know we’ve had our struggles, but it’s about to turn the corner."

Well lets see it this weekend... like Apollo said in Rocky 3 "There is no tomorrow!"

I think we easily forget how young our Defense is. We also fail to realize that the Defense has been hit with numerous injuries and how those injuries have hit our most experienced players. Bosa (now gone), Jones, Cooper and Landers have all had injuries and even missed entire games. Harrison and Borland have had injuries. One is slowed down the other missed a game. Fuller and Arnette have had injuries. One missed a game and the other has missed long stretch of playing time and may also be out this week.

Yet, we keep winning.

And, at this point in time they are giving up less points than the 2014 team did. Think what this D will look like when guys get healthy and players get more experienced.

I am a long way from being a fan of LB performance this year

BUT

Seeing the out-of-context quotes that the media used for their headlines/links from the Davis interviews, I was left thinking, “I hope that’s taken out-of-context and I REALLY hope that the full interview gives a different impression.”

That was exactly the case. Davis’ responses to the questions inspired a LOT more confidence than the quotes used in headlines and links.

I haven’t made a judgement on Davis yet, but the media have been a long way from fair with him. Like the rest of you, I’ll judge based on results.
