I just checked over at "BP2" and it looks like they're changing some of the appearance of the site to not look so much like BP.

Looks like a step in the right direction for them.

Part of the problem too was that SGN was so busy getting all of the new site elements together that their inside info articles become less frequent... back when they were BII they broke a number of stories on the team and recruits before anyone.

Anyway, they are indeed changing the look of the site, and LloydSev is working on recoding a large portion of the site to change the look as well as the functionality.

This past weekend was more of a launch than their earlier one... LloydSev did a great job on the play by play. Apparently everyone in the press box was turning to him asking "Lloyd how long was that play" because he followed the exact play, personnel and stats for all but three plays during the game. Quite impressive considering he was typing them all up in the meantime.

DAMN, talk about your multi-tasker. That would be hard as hell.

Anyhow, the site is looking better, keep up the good work.

Indeed, we knew greg was top-notch but I figured Lloyd was worthless :wink: He did a great job, and has been doing well on the technical side of SGN as well...

I think the emotions from this split will blow over. They probably will never be brother/sister sites or anything, but I don't see any reason why both sites can't coexist nicely.

Now BN on the other hand... I sense that will be a different story. (as in SGN & BN)

Here's my theory.. people are emotional.. when people are emotional they tend to get "excessive" in their needs. I wanted to provide "to much" information to avoid not giving enough.

Does that make sense? I don't intend anyone to goto those sites, however it was my way of letting people know that I'm not blowing off this issue, but am however working on other important issues that should only last a few weeks.

If it is further than you wish me to go, then please by all means, moderators have a way to edit my post. However, in all seriousness.. isn't this thread all one big "shameless plug" for SGN? lol.

What is so hard to understand? Stop promoting things other than BuckeyePlanet on BuckeyePlanet. That has been the rule from DAY 1! If it comes up in casual conversation then fine, but the blatant promotion is wrong. Frankly, I would think it is embarrassing for you. Look, if S&GNews can't make a go of things on it's own merit, then it isn't worth much anyway.

I begin to wonder if all the talk I heard in the past several days about S&GNews moving away from the BuckeyePlanet model of operation was just lip service. And no Lloyd, this thread isn't a shamless plug for S&GNews. It's about the owner of this site dispelling the myths that you seem all too willing to let live. It's saying that, NO, we did not realize that BuckeyePlanet would be cloned and that members from S&GNews would "pimp" their site and agenda on BuckeyePlanet. I certainly figured that your #1 job would be to work feverishly to change S&GNews from the clone of BuckeyePlanet that it is. Apparently, you have plenty of other things to take care of before you worry about your friends at BuckeyePlanet. I think I'm starting to get the message very clearly. From here on out talk is worthless. I think I'll judge you by your actions going forward.
